Why has my steering wheel lost grip?

Strangely my 2011 F10 530D M SPORT without paddles has an odd shiny texture to the steering wheel.

It is noticeably less Grippy and rather more shiny and feels a bit old.

I have enquired with re wrapping companies as i prefer the holey M Sport Steering wheel leather.

How are yours?

Warranty???

Might be grease build-up? Try light degrease and alcohol after or purchase some leather cleaner from chemical guys. Hope that helps.

if you rewrap it go crazy and get alcantara or suede haha

i personally would force them to replace it if you're still under warranty. i don't remember what it was but i had them replace something that i felt shouldn't have warn out so fast on my last car. they might fight you on it.. idk.

Wash a small spot in an inconspicuous place with mild soap and water and let it dry. If it has the original feel after it dries then the problem is that it is dirty and you should wash the whole thing. Don't wash it with anything that will leave a residue.

Just a firm dab with a damp white cloth will show dirt if the leather is dirty.
