Is this for ISTA+ or ISTA-P?

ok I was able to get my setup to work and play nice with the car.

1. Make sure you set your local wireless adapter IP to 169.254.1.1 (the gateway should auto populate), then make your physical connection to the car and turn car on in accessory position (don't need to start the engine).

2. Run the Rheingold software and then click the button to launch the emulator. You will then get a popup with a specific IP in it, something along the lines of 169.254.x.x. You will copy that IP from the popup into another Rheingold popup prompt which will be asking you for an IP. After entering the IP the boxes close.

3. Now Launch the BMW software from within the Rheingold software and it should all connect.

For ISTA+ (AKA Rheingold AKA ISTA-D), you do not need to set set IP or subnet for ethernet lan when connecting with ENET. You definitely do not need to set wireless IP.

For ISTA-P with ENET and emulator, you do set LAN IP and subnet in IPV4 properties.
