[F10] Bang & Olufsen - Noise Cancelling

Hello Gents,

Does anybody of you have Bang & Olufsen in F10 ?
Is there one kind of B&O system possible or more ?
It is said, it has a function Noise Cancelling, example in high speed driving the noise from outside (wind, tires) is filtered out via reverse phase of the signal generated via speakers.

Is that true ?
Does it work ?
Is that useful and worth ?
Is it possible to listen to the music while having the noice being cancelled ?

I plan to upgrade my audio system and I have a choice:
1) Install used B&O system.
2) Install custom system with own DSP, amplifier, etc.

I know, I can have more effect via custom system, but the noice cancelling - if it works well - is in my opinion "out of the discussion".

What is your opinion ?

Thank you,

Best regards,
Michal

If you're going through the trouble of installing a complete sound system (and I recommend the B&O given its desirability), I would install some DynaMat or similar material inside the doors while you have the interior panels removed. You can also do this to the trunk walls/floor and the headliner. External noise would be reduced significantly as a result.

I have never heard of noise cancelling option in car stereo, but it would also negatively affect sound. As Quicksilv3r mentioned, there are also options to add dampening material.
