USB 2 can typically power up anything that draws about 0.5A max so SSDs are fine and a few low power HDDs should work as well.
I thought I had EBT in my car but I think I am mistaken just have bog standard BT (633) instead I assume EBT probably does show cover art etc. |

Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this forum and BMW altogether. And it looks like I've made a massive mistake buying recently approved used pre 09/2010 F10. According to two different dealers there is nothing one can do to integrate a smartphone if the car hasn't got this as a factory assembled option Shame on you, BMW! I think I'll start a new thread to create a definitive conclusion for all those who are stuck with this wretched iDrive which you allegedly can't upgrade. Regards |

You will need to have enhanced bluetooth options 'coded' to be on. You can do this yourself or pay someone else to do it remotely through TeamViewer... which is what I did (the latter).
Mine was pro satnav on a '15 plate car and couldn't stream music - which seem ridiculous to me too, so share your frustration. But after coding it works fine.

As far as I know - yes. Mine wasn't on when I got the car and now it is!

This is odd, mine is also a 15 plate car without enhanced bluetooth but I can stream music absolutely fine - the only functionality I am missing is multiple simultaneous connections, the phone cradle in the armrest and the second mic.

No idea why there would be discrepancies between models. Mine is June 2015, with pro nav and couldn't stream music by bluetooth. I checked all menus and then decided to get my car coded anyway to change the stop/start function. Enhanced BT was something I chose to be put on and now it works fine...

I have a 520d with NBT pro nav, coding the bluetooth streaming was a simple VO coding change to 6NS - works a treat.
i too was stunned to find that a 30k+ car wouldnt have something so basic...silly really. |
