Does the MPerformance exhaust give you same sound as stock M5 exhaust

Picked up my car from Santa Barbara on Friday, I didn't get around to having the VDC install the exhaust so I will be definitely getting something soon - as the stock exhaust is so quiet I could barely hear the engine at all and couldn't find my shift points (have a 6 speed!). My E46 330 has a Remus with the resonator deleted so I am really used to something louder, others will have different expectations, obviously.

I love the sound, but is it really that loud inside of the car?
Is it disturbing during regular highway cruising?

So the M Performance is on the loud side?

I am looking for a decent exhaust but not too loud with a deep tone.
