BMW Retrofit for Connected Drive Services 2014 & Older Cars
SPECIAL NOTE: After December 31, 2016, the on-board cellular technology used for delivering numerous BMW ConnectedDrive / BMW Assist features will no longer be supported on most 2013 and earlier vehicles, 2014 X6, 2015 and earlier X1, and 2016 and earlier Z4 vehicles. Affected customers whose BMW Assist or ConnectedDrive contract is active past this date will be contacted by BMW. If you believe your vehicle may be affected, please visit
www.BMWAssistOffer.com and enter the last 7 characters of your VIN. If you are affected, you will be guided through selecting your preferred offer. What is happening to my BMW Assist services and what is BMW offering as a solution? If your vehicle is affected, your BMW's on-board cellular technology, used for delivering numerous BMW ConnectedDrive / BMW Assist features, will no longer be supported after December 31, 2016. This will eliminate features such as SOS, BMW Assist eCall™, and Concierge Call. In order to maintain our firm commitment to customer satisfaction, BMW is offering several solutions since your current BMW ConnectedDrive / BMW Assist contract is active beyond this date. $300 BMW Lifestyle and Accessories voucher for in-Center purchases + Deactivation of existing technology $200 Visa® Prepaid Card + Deactivation of existing technology Retrofit of new cellular technology. Customers with less than one year remaining on their current subscription may purchase a BMW Assist Safety Plan for $199 per year to ensure an extended period of service. Please note: once completed, your selection cannot be reversed. If the cellular technology is deactivated, your BMW will no longer be able to support BMW ConnectedDrive / BMW Assist and important features like the emergency call button. |

Even I had the same issue for my VIN but all the information above is from BMW website.
And I also sent an email to the support group asking why it says invalid for my VIN.

Do either of you have an active system?
My F10 doesn't and shows invalid, my E90 is active and shows the options. Matt

I was never contacted but my VIN worked on the site and I had the retrofit done a couple/3 weeks ago. Like cartechfreak I would contact BMW; starting with my dealer.

I'm not sure, but I believe if you have a MY 2013, and your VIN is inactive, it may well be because your vehicle is not affected.
My build date was 10/2012, and I'm told that I will not be impacted at year's end. I certainly was not when my initial warranty expired last month. I guess we shall see. Bill
