Anyone 12v socket battery tender?

Anyone have experience with using the truck socket as a tender location using the tender 12v adapter? And can we even use that as a charging point??

BMW have commented on not using the 12V sockets in their data. Here's one reference from Battery Basics.

Quote:
The cigarette lighter is supplied with voltage by the front power distribution box via switched terminal 30B. After terminal 30B off, the relay de-energizes. This means that a trickle charger connected at the cigarette lighter would be disconnected from the battery. Only charge the battery via the jump start terminal point.
I imagine this may also apply to the rear socket.

BMW instructions, "Only charge the battery via the jump start terminal point", are supported in the user manual.
