Hello guys,

Went a head and pulled the trigger and ordered an M-tech front for my 535.
In the past, I have used a local body shop that had painted my previous E60 Mtech for $450.00 and it came out well except the lower valence area, had some blurry distortions.

Wanted to ask if anyone can recommend a cheaper body shop/paint shop that would be able to paint the bumper with a good quality of workmanship?

I am in the Southwestern Connecticut.

Any BMW certified body shop will do. The real test is if it matches the rest of the car in the sun. BMW certified shop has to redo the work if it doesn't match. I had mine redo it 4 times just for minor swirls. They can't say no.

Set the expectation up front for the quality you are looking for. While no one will be absolutely perfect you should be happy with their work. If you aren't satisfied, a quality shop will understand and rectify.

There is a big difference between a poor paint job and their detail shop leaving swirls. Most will be happy to have their detail guy go back and correct a lot of surface issues. If he burns through the clear it is on them to re-spray. All of this should be to your satisfaction before accepting delivery of the car/part.

C&D Auto Body in Hackensack, NJ does work for the dealers in the area, and for BMW North America. Not the cheapest, but one of the best for quality.

Yeah quality is important of course, Will need to scout around, maybe give another local body shop a call and see what they offer. Will keep looking, bumper is still in transit.

Good to know, I live close by. I went to C&D the last time I needed anything.
