550i Odd Vibration Problem
Hi I have a strange vibration issue - doesn't seem to be related to speed but more prevalent at highway speeds. It feels like a worn out wheel bearing but it is not a constant vibration, it's on for one second then off for one second then on for one second then off.... same pattern continuously. Anyone have the same problem or any suggestions let me know. Thanks. Oh and the car is a 2016 with 57k miles.

Have your wheels checked, are they different tire brands? are they Run flats? are they normal tires? Are your Wheel Bolts torqued to spec? Are your Rotors worn evenly?

I'm having the wheels refinished soon and they will check for any damage. Tires are all the same and only a few months old, not run flats. Wheel bolts are torqued. I will have to check the rotors.

if when you drive at different speeds, vibration appears, then this is wheel balancing, if at any speed, then check the CV joint, you can check the bearing by lifting the car and rocking the wheel back and forth by the top and bottom, and then hold it left to right and the same back and forth
If there is movement, then you should pay attention to the bearing |
