Looking good indus. How many nights did you spend on the BMW config thing? I kept doing 'final' specs with a view to calling the dealer. I think I ended up with finalfinalfinalfinal.pdf in the end. And that was after I'd done the same with a 3 series.
Which reminds me I still haven't formally introduced myself here! |

20% VAT....dealer always stressed anything delivered after Jan 4 would be.....so negotiated good discount (6%) and good price on my Audi A6 p/x.
The wait is going to kill me but figured December always goes quickly and I am skiing in Jan so hopefully time will fly. Gone for Tit silver and black/black......was tempted by Carbon black but I think the lighter colours show the F11 lines much better especially with Msport......and for me this current shape F11 really 'echoes' prev gen E39 and I always thought that car looked great in Titanium silver? |

Thanks my dealer offered me a VAT freeze as long as I took the car before March 2011, perhaps he had a target to hit. I've spent so long speccing the car that I'm now not sure that the car will get to me in time to save that money. I've ordered the carbon black but only because in general black is my favourite colour, though not overly keen on the blue tinge in carbon black. I was also tempted by silver with black interior, looks really nice and black interior looks sporty and would be very practical with small kids. I quite like Sophisto grey as well, a good middle ground between the two I'm still wondering whether I should change the colour while I still can

I have two small kids and a dog so it needs to be Black/Black for me!!!.....I do like Carbon Black and loved it on my old E46 M3...but to my eye lighter colours on the F11 seems to suit better (very subjective!!)...I had specced Carbon Black to start with but having spent more time looking/thinking/looking/thinking/looking/thinking!!!!..decided on Titianium and I am sure I have made the right choice?
I suppose if you are wanting to have Oyster then this does go better with Black but not sure Oyster goes with Grey or Silver?....decisions,decisions.... |

Every time I order a new motor I'm determined not to go for black again but they look sooooooo good for the 15 minutes a week that they're clean. |

I'm wondering whether I should swap my oyster/black to black leather. I've got two small kids and am worried about the practicality of light leather. What trim finish did you go for Rich?

I have never particularly liked light leather in cars....always gone for Black....especially with two kids I think you might regret it......maybe Black interior and Black Exterior can be a bit 'sombre' but on a 535D it needs to look a bit 'mean' and I think with cream leather it may look a bit 'soft'....
It is a nightmare though I know trying to choose... but for me I never even considred Oyster so all I had to do was choose paint.... |

Thanks jon, i will still ask them to see what i can get!. my 535d m sport is being reg on the first week of jan and paid for in dec to miss the 20% vat. I went for sophisto with oyster/black, but i know what you mean about choices it took me weeks to make my mind up.

Thanks. I have emailed the dealer and asked to change over to the black leather with brushed aluminium trim. I think you guys are right light coloured leather is just too much of a liability with small kids, I'll never be able to relax when it's muddy etc.
Amleto63; no offence to anybody who has this finish but I think it's ghastly. It maybe a regional thing as I see it seems to be more popular in USA and places like Turkey, Eastern Europe etc than the UK. In the UK I reckon it would actually hit resale values because 99% of people don't like it

.....are you sure Indus!!!!.....only joking I think you have done the right thing.
Cinnamon leather......each to their own but definitely not for me or many people I think in the UK. Just relax now Indus and wait for that call from the dealer "sir your car has arrived"!!! |

I'm not going to think about it anymore! I've got to be sensible, two monstrous boys aged 2 and 4 and beige leather don't mix!
