Not to rain on the parade, but I installed the euro fog light switch on my 335i…and NEVER used it. I got caught up in the "modding game" and it seemed like a good idea at the time. But the reality is that the $150 or so I paid for it was wasted. Lesson: Think twice before you plop down your money on ANY mod.

Actually, I did sell it before I traded the car in. But the point is that I was "out" the $150 for several years on something I never used.

I have a US spec. F10 M Sport and can also confirm that with the switch replacement only, the rear fogs work. The entire process to swap the switch took about 10 minutes and a Torx driver. I don't think it was a waste of money, here in New England with the rain/snow/sleet etc. I turn them on in low visibility conditions, especially on the highway. It just gives a bit more added visibility and road presence and may prevent me from being rear ended or someone clipping my rear end while switching lanes in low visibility conditions.
I believe the rule in Germany is they must be on if front and rear visibility is less than 50 meters. This is easy to tell as the black and white posts that line the sides of the road are spaced 50 meters apart.

I have it installed in mine and I do use it in bad weather in Seattle - although I do get what you sayin' - to me and I'm sure to other US car aficionados, there is always the allure of 'Euro-spec' - we somehow justify 'needing' something that's not standard in the US-spec vehicles.
