Dot on 'miles remaining' dial

Underneath the speedo there's a graphic of the miles I have remaining, a sort of graph thing. On it is a dot which tends to move about ... anyone know what it means?!

I'll get a photo so I can show you what I mean if nobody knows what I'm talking about :-)

It shows you the fuel you will use on your current journey
So it is only there when you have a destination programmed in the satnav.
Quite useful as you see what fuel will be left when you arrive at your destination.

I haven't noticed this on my F10, which car are you referring to? You're on the 5 series forum, but your profile states that you drive an E92.

Thanks Jon, I'll check it out later, but I think I'd have noticed this before now so I'm guessing my Sep '10 535d doesn't have this feature.

Thanks.

It's WAY off if that's what it is - it mostly hovers around empty to 1/4, which on a journey from Bristol to Heathrow with a full tank probably isn't right. Oh, unless it's backwards??

JonD - my car is in my signature, I haven't updated the other bit yet. Off to do that now.

Ah yes, I see what you mean now - I only looked at the LH profile column and not at the content of your signature.

I'm guessing that you both have the full black-panel instrument cluster display, as I don't have this feature in my Sep '10 F10.
