Goodbye F11, Hello....F11
I am surprised how quickly time has passed. I realise now that I haven't been on the forum for quite some time, but more surprisingly it's almost 3 years since I picked up my 520 F11.
On Feb 10 I have to return it to the lease company, so I've started looking around for what is next.....nothing else in its class seems to meet the quality, connectivity and trim of the 5 series and on price it seems the most compelling too. I have a couple questions that I hope the forum might be able to help with: I am weighing up whether to go for another lease or a sub-6 month old used. My company is swapping lease provider and orders won't be able to be placed until January 7. Does anyone know what is the current build & delivery lag? Second, I can see that there is a very recent refresh. Doesn't seem to be anything substantial enough for me to ignore a September build should one come up that is financially compelling. Is that correct? Anything else, any other developments, issues etc I might have missed out on over the past year since I stopped following closely? Thanks |

You definitely want to get an LCI model now. Standard xenons, handwriting recognition make it worthwhile on their own.

No sports auto though on the 518/520 LCI, only "normal" auto, but with paddles if you want.
New m-sport steering wheel on the LCI, like the one on the m-sport F30. And since xenon is standard now, BMW offers LED headlights, and the fogs are also LED.

Am a little concerned to read that the Sport Auto is no longer an option on the 520. After the prof-media that's my next favourite and most frequently used option...... As much as I would like a 530 (what an awesome engine; smooth & powerful), my budget won't run to it. |

Yes it's an unfortunate deletion, the sport-auto.

It was only sport auto that was deleted.

Target Price
Morning all and happy NY
Have spent far more time trawling used bmw sites online than is healthy for my wife's sanity; "come and look at this one" (20 times a day) and been talking extensively to my local dealer. I am targeting black '63 plate 2.0D m-sport prof nav. Best price I can seem to reach is £29,500 for a saloon. Some of those are zero mileage with no other options or 6000 miles with a host of other goodies. Touring (which I would prefer) is at least 2k more as there just isn't as many out there to use to drive the price down. Does anyone have recent experience/advice of getting that price any lower? One option might be the large auction houses. |

I got 11% discount off everything so I think it was circa £39 - £40k.
I've just read another thread were the poster got 19% off - but that was back a few months and may have been pre LCI. Cheers |

hmm, I've just been going over the purchase invoice and noticed that the dealer has added the Seal and Protect and Service inclusive onto the finance - muppets! I told them that I did not want the seal and protect and I would pay for the Service inclusive pack.
Right, angry email sent off! The least that they can do is give me something for the 'stress' of seeing it added onto the finance has caused me ;-) The final amount I will be paying is - approx £37500 with various 'special allowances' - as it says on the invoice :-) But I do have a huge deposit - I've been saving up for 3 years. |

After much prevaricating I have finally gotten off the fence and signed on the dotted line.
Despite a keen trawl of the alternatives, including a hugely disappointing test drive of the new Nissan Qashqai (how on earth all the magazines are rating it 5-stars I do not know) I will be sticking with the the title of this thread and keeping to the F11. I've plumped for a used (June 2013) F11 M-Sport on 19's in Carbon Black. Not many options, but everything I really want, prof media, folding mirrors, sports-auto, paddles, sun-protection glass. A dark interior replaces the light one on my outgoing SE-F11. I note it has the auto boot close now, which my 2011 model didn't and DAB, other than that the inside feels pretty familiar. Pick it up in 3 days. Thanks for all the help as I did my research. |

Good to hear Shake, look forward to seeing some pics. Going from SE to Msport will be worth the change
