Is it me or does the washer reservoir in the F10/11 seem small, I'm forever filling the thing up.
I've checked for leaks and it's fine.
Just seems small to previous cars I've had, or maybe the fan jets use more fluid?

Just tipped 1000 miles today and not had to top it up from new. Are you running dry or is it just telling you to top up?

The roads have been terrible around my area and I do use it a fair amount, but the light has been coming on, when it does, it takes just over 4 liters, so I assume there's not a fault with that either.
Maybe I'm just using too much

As it sprays the front lights too, it probably uses more than an average car, also, when it does the front lights, don't know if anyone has noticed, but it does it twice with about a 10 second interval - I only know that as i was in fog the other day and watched it happen from inside the car!

Yes it does two sprays to the lights but the headlamp wash only activates every five windscreen washes.

And when the headlights are on so if you've just spent some time polishing her up and don't want the bonnet covered on screen wash switch the lights off first (not whilst driving at night though!)

Yes, sounds like I'm a little too trigger happy .
Also, that the light maybe comes on when there is still around 1 liter left.

One bugbear of mine, they reverse the wipers from LHD to RHD , but not the fan jets, ie there are still 2 on the left and one on the right, when it should be the other way around

Interesting. Maybe that's intentional to put more water on the left hand side of the windscreen to draw it across? Didn't notice that!

55,000 miles. I don't think this is something I've had to do more than twice a year.

My phaeton used to get through a 5 litre container every 600 miles. Basically had to refill with each tank of diesel. Bmw is miserly by comparison.

That car was ridiculously expensive to run on every count. Loved it but equally was glad to see the back of it form a cost and depreciation perspective.

In the 15,000 miles I've done since getting my car in September, I've filled mine twice. But with the weather lately, I'm expecting to have to do it again soon.

Do you guys add any type of screenwash mix into the water?
Are the washer jets heated?

Washer jests are heated and yes make sure you add screen wash as if the weather gets extreme the headlight washers can freeze and pop out of the bumper, sometimes flying off never to be seen again. I always use genuine BMW screen wash as I've read other types can mess up the fan action of the jets, also if they clog up BMW will blame it on the screen wash not being recommended.

It smells nice too.
