Well after waiting a long 2 months to get my 2011 535i xdrive, I don't get to enjoy it. Been at the dealership longer than I have had it. There is a "knocking" sound coming from the engine area and they have no idea what it is. Drive me crazy because it is somewhat loud. Just a constant tap-tap-tap. Speeds up a little when I give it gas but constantly there. Factory rep from BMW at dealership but still cant figure it out after 4 days told me they would replace high pressure fuel pump. Also the auto headlights come on even when it's high noon. I know i read somewhere on a post that others are having same problem. UG! Drives me crazy!!!

Thanks, pharding but could you kindly clarify. Mine's a RHD drive version so the left side of the dashboard is the area above the glove box. The car's been squeak free for a while now though.

my dealer checked the sun roof following suggestions I received in one of my past treads, on my car it was on from day one just above my head, once checked and following a test dirve they decided to look into the B pillar cover, so it was removed and put back in with some lubrican to stop any contact between the materials in the inside, so fare so good got this done today none of the squeaks.

What rattles? I have the music cranked up - this is my 'therapy' session to unwind - even other motorists doing dumazz moves don't really bother me!

My 12 month old 528 with sports seats creaks and groans against the lower pastic sides, non stop. I cant stand it! Im thinking of spraying the leather with something where it meets the pastic and tightening the fixings under the little caps. This is not acceptable for a $120k car. Is this just sport seats having this trouble? Im only 80 kg so its not like theres a lot of load on the seat.

I can hear a rattling noise coming from the driver side window anytime I hit a bump or a pot hole. Drives me crazy as I cant figure out how to fix it. Any body else had the same problem ? I have a 2011 535xi.

you say its a rattle rather than creak?
If a creak, try bmw gummifledge on the rubber seals.

I had creaking from the door as the car flexed (particualrly over bumps at slow speeds). this sorted it out 100%

if its a rattle, sounds like something else.
