Please please could someone translate the German configuration options?
I tried doing it one by one with a dictionary, but had to give up after half of the words weren't appearing and it took too long.

If someone fluent in German could help it would be greatly appreciated!

Straight from BMW USA' site. ???

The 535i and 550i will be available with a choice of 6-speed manual transmission, BMW's new 8-speed automatic transmission, or new 'Sport Automatic' 8-speed.

I think they are the same tranny. My guess is that the "sport" variant has (1) paddle shifters, and (2) "sport mode" for more aggressive shift programming.

Brochure says:

8-speed sports automatic transmission Steptronic, with sports mode for a particularly sporty drive and shift paddles on the sports leather steering wheel

Then the question remains that what the sporty drive actually means in practise: is it shorter shift times between gears or quicker response time during down shift or higher revs ?
