I have 2000 miles on mine and I wouldn't change a thing. Love the sport tranny. Still have only seen one other f10 on the road around home. I live in a small town. I have received nothing but compliments on the car. It is 535i sport, AW with cinnamon leather, anthracite headliner and various other packages. I haven't had any of the problems I've read about on the board. I love this car!

I drove the 550 on a track, and even when it felt like it accelerated faster than the 535, the 535 felt more composed in the curves. I guess the weight difference up front makes a big difference in handling, unless you have a 550 with Dynamic Handling vs a 535 without it.

I opted for the 535 and I can't imagine ever needing any more acceleration or speed than what it has. I can't stomp on the accelerator for more than a few seconds before going at jail-time speeds.

Surprisingly, a small $500 option (2TB, aka Sports Automatic Transmission) makes a big difference in steering feel due to the available Dynamic Driving Control which lets you tighten-up the steering. Well worth the price.

The only thing I wish I had is the post-september Combox, which gives you Mobile Office. I'm pestering BMW almost daily to get an upgrade, which should be doable.

Not having driven the 550i M sport but having it on order, is it a quick car?. I am coming from the M3 so need the V8 feel.

Just about the only option i left out was active cruise... I have and love to drive with my Valentine One detector just to simply know when the unwanteds are near. That said, i guess the active cruise causes a falie on the V1 and am told for most good detectors as well... that would not bode well with me...

it does make me paranoid, since i owned a 335xi however the 535 and the 550 have a single turbo. me not being paranoid would be getting the 528 inline 6. a great enginne and reliable. but i dont like the exhaust pipe arrangement.
may just have to wait a year and see if the turbo engine/ fule pump issue is completely resolved. i dont believe its just a fuel pump issue alone. may be an engine issue alone.

I was at the track with an M3. The instructor said that the 550 should be faster... It is a rocket, and will push you to the back of your seat. A fantastic car for sure, specially with the M-Sport package. Congrats!

The 550i has a different set of HPFP's than the one N55/N54 equipped vehicles use. I havent come across anyone complaining of them fail yet.But on the other hand I have come across stray reports of even the new N55 engines failing becasue of HPFP issues.
Again I am for from being good when it comes to car mechanics but htis was the result of my initial googling.

I went with the 550, love the additional power over the 535, but the major reason I went with the 550 is because it came with more standard equipment.

By the time I configured the 535 and 550 with all the toys I wanted I was within $2000 price difference. Based on this I went with the 550.

The one option I wish I'd added was the soft close doors.

I did the same Jeff, I specced up the 535i and decided 550i M-Sport all the way. Good choice

I was going to buy a 535 to replace my 2008 535 but started wrestling with the idea of a 550, went with the 550 and now cannot imagine going with the 535.

Man, I wish I had enough cash to get a 550i. A modern BMW V8 is impressing enough and then add two turbo's...
