Well if that's correct (and I don't doubt it is), that means delivery mid-August.

Then comes the dilemma of getting ASAP, or waiting two more weeks and getting a 63 plate!

That is what I am going through. My car delivery is slated for mid-Aug and I am struggling to convince myself to wait another 2 weeks and get the 63 plate...

What a world we live in... I am happy to wait for 2.5 months, but the extra 2 week wait is not sinking in. I haven't decided when I will actually take delivery, the dealer is happy to keep the car for 2 weeks to wait for 63 plate or I can go in immediately mid-Aug and get it straight away...

Let's see...

If I was in your position (ie actully owning the car) I would defiantly wait for the 63 plate, it will have better residual value when it comes to selling it.

I don't have that worry as I'm leasing but, I'm still tempted to wait!

Isn't waiting for a 63 plate more important with leasing so you have positive equity when you trade it for another car..?

It's a business lease, so no equity either way at the end, just give it back.

Did you have any luck? I ordered mine last Friday, 31 May.

Delivery can be expected in Aug week 1; but I have asked them to delay the build as I would want to get the new 63 Reg. So car will probably deliver in 3/4 week of Aug now.
Why is the 63 plate relevant?

In the uk the registration plates take the form of tw letters, two numbers, three letters such as this EJ13 LTA. The first two letters tell you which area the car was registered in, the last three letters are random and the number gives the age of the vehicle.

For cars registered march 2013 - August 2013 they get the number 13, for cars registered Sept 2013-feb2014 will get 63. Basically it's the year for the first cycle then add 50 for the second cycle that year. So a 05 plate is march 2005 and a 55 plate is sept 2005,

2004/05 04 54
2005/06 05 55
2006/07 06 56
2007/08 07 57
2008/09 08 58
2009/10 09 59
2010/11 10 60
2011/12 11 61
2012/13 12 62
2013/14 13 63
2014/15 14 64
