Has any experienced the I drive flickering between day and night mode for a few minutes after start up?

No happens while I am driving for no reason

sounds like it's on its way out. BMW will replace it if you can recreate it and within warranty.

Maybe a faulty ambient light sensor?

Car is at the dealer. They think light sensor.
