I'm on a low key hunt for a 535i, but can't seem to find a LCI with M Sport and Comfort Seats (Massaging + fan). Does that combo exist?

I've found it with pre-LCI car up to '13, but the '14-16 LCI models w/ M Sport don't seem to have it. Just wondering what is out there.

My spouse pretty much says the next car has to have comfort seats, and I pretty much say we have to have the M Sport for appearance. I would also prefer the LCI car due to the updates that happened. Can such an animal be found in nature?

As far as I know it’s not a possible combo. I have an LCI that the original owner spec’d with comfort seats which deleted the M seat option. That’s what the dealer told me at least.

My apologies, I thought you were looking for a car that has an option of M sport comfort seats. As in an option that keeps the sport seats and also has comfort seats somehow.

Some more info from my specific car if you’re interested (2015 LCI):

Not sure if that helps or not. From my understanding the S337 option comes with the M sports seats, but my option list shows it also has S456 which I belive deletes the M sports seat option.

If you could find an ordering guide PDF for the model year you’re looking for…that would really be helpful.

But be careful to not add features to the comfort seat (S456A) or sport seat that don’t exist. The active ventilation (S453A) and active massaging seat (S455A) features are additional options and not part of the standard function of the comfort seats.

The comfort seat is the seat that has the most adjustments (ways) that include:
  • 2-way upper back articulation
  • 4-way lumbar support
  • 2-way thigh extension
  • 2-way headrest adjustment
  • 2-way upper cushion side bolster adjustment
  • 8-way upper & lower seat adjustment

The basic seat loses the options below but most times can still be ordered with the 4-way lumbar support:
  • 2-way upper articulating back
  • 2-way thigh extension
  • 2-way electric headrest adjustment
  • 2-way side bolster adjustment

You can see the seat switches below for the various seat configurations:
1 = basic seat
2 = basic seat w/lumbar support
3 = comfort seat

The sport seat usually loses the 2-way upper articulating back…and the extending thigh support may be manually adjusted (not electrical). The ventilation and massage features are usually not compatible because there’s not enough room for the bladders due to the narrower seat section & wider side bolsters in the lower & upper cushions. And in some platforms, the actual “sport seats” weren’t even offered in the US market. The f06/f12/f13 six series didn’t get the actual sport seats that were offered in the Euro & other world markets…you can see pics of them below:

Thanks for the responses everyone! Yes, we need a shared vocabulary... I'm not sure if I'm using the right one... so I won't mention packages, just the features!

Looking for:
1) Seats that have the electric leg rest in the front (sport seats?)
2) massaging/vented seats (what I called comfort seats?)
3) M Performance package (headliner, bumpers, interior trim, suspension)
4) Post LCI F10 (updated steering wheel, waste gate, CIC?)

Soooo, I've found this combo in a Pre-LCI F10, which is okay, but I'd like post-LCI due to the better looking M steering wheel, better instrument cluster, and I think better engine with electronic waste gate. I think CIC was updated as well?

Here's a Pre-LCI for example: https://www.mhhyundai.com/used/BMW/2...01182f1d4b.htm

When link expires, here are images of the seats w/ leg extension & bolstering:

You can see the seat fan buttons which I use to verify on listings as well as the interior M Sport trim:

I've seen this combo pop up now and then on pre-LCI cars, and while still kind of rare, it's out there. But have yet to see it in a post-LCI car. Does it exist, or did BMW limit the options as they ramped down production of the F10?

If it doesn't exist, then I guess I would have to give up on the M package (LOVE the looks of it) or the massaging seats (spouse uses pretty much daily). Or go for pre-LCI (which we have now) and the sorta' boring dash/cluster and vacuum waste gate.

Thoughts/opinions/suggestions???

My 5er definitely has heated Sport seats with Lumbar support, Massaging seats does sound nice! Just got back from a 1800+ Mile Vacation trip and wouldn't have minded that feature! Now I want to assist in searching that feature for you!

The seats you pictured are comfort seats. You can tell by the headrest and upper articulating back.

Again, the ventilation & massaging are additional options that can be added to the comfort seat.

I don't care for it so much, but my wife LOVES it on our 528i! It's pretty much a must-have for her. We both like the ventilation feature though, it's nice to have in Inland SoCal!

OK, comfort seats (from comfort package?)... I like it!
So the million dollar question: Were the comfort seats with massage/ventilation available with M Sport package on post LCI cars?

And I'll add this question: Am I focusing too much on post-LCI? Are the changes really that much of an improvement? We have a pre-LCI and it's fine, but the post ones just seem a lot nicer and more contemporary without getting into a G series car.

Are you looking for the 6 or 8 cyl? If you’re looking for a 6 cyl…that may be the reason you're having difficulty finding the 20-way comfort seats (aka multi-contour seats) that also have the active ventilation and massage options.

Yes, as mine is an LCI and has the M sport package and comfort seats with massage (really more of an anti-fatigue), heating, and ventilation.

I think holding out for the perfect LCI is worth it, I spent months finding the right LCI F10 before I settled on the one I have now. The optional LCI-only LED headlights really update the look of this platform, especially when combined with the M-Sport package. You had mentioned the steering wheel before, and the LCI M-Sport wheel is a huge improvement over the pre-LCI version. And while I never really had an issue with CIC in my E90, NBT is basically CIC perfected. The controller is a little bulky, but iDrive itself is much faster and much more responsive. Now you could retrofit all of that above into a pre-LCI F10, but getting the parts to do it is quite expensive.

Another thing to note about LCI 535i's is that not all of them have the electronic wastegate. On the F-chassis 2, 3, and 4 series, all N55's with a production of ~7/13 and newer got EWG; but the 5, 6, and 7 didn't get EWG until production ~9/14, about a year after LCI production started. I didn't know this going into this platform, and I got stuck with a 2/14 535i with PWG. There's nothing wrong with PWG, especially if you plan to leave it stock; but EWG cars make more power overall if you ever start modifying or upgrading the engine. Just something to note.

As far as the seat situation goes, I haven't personally seen an LCI F10 535i with M-Sport, comfort seats, ventilation, and massaging. I found an LCI 550i M-Sport a few months ago that had all of that, but not a 535i. It seems that SWFLf10 has that combo though, so apparently they are out there!

THANK YOU for the info the the NBT and EWG... VERY helpful. I doubt the car will ever be modified other than charge pipe and maybe intercooler. So PWG may be fine, I'd just prefer the EWG, but that looks to narrow options down even further!

As I really am focusing on LCI cars mostly for cosmetics, I maaaaybe can let that go. It's funny, the 535i I linked to above was just for an example to show what I'm looking at, but I may just have to trek out the SFV this weekend and check it out!

I hadn't actually looked at the car in the link when I first went through this thread, but that is a nice car! M-Sport, electronic dampers, ventilated and massaging comfort seats, sun blinds, 4-zone climate control; that's got all the good stuff. Black on black is a really nice combo for the F10 too. 93k miles is low for the year, so $13k seems pretty reasonable.

That's a good spec you found there!

I didn't know the I6 was available with 4-zone! I thought it was a V8 only option.

Yes, it seems pretty nice! If it had carbon black paint and a HUD... well that would be just about perfection!!!

Our basic 528i has 4 zone, but it also has the massage/vent seats, so maybe that is part of the comfort package?
