I ordered AW, since I have so many dark cars and looking for a change.. Plus easier to keep clean etc... Hope that helps.

This car looks great in any color. It appeals to many tastes. I think both colors are good in their own ways. AW is more common, but much like eating a steak med/rare. It's common for a reason. It looks freaking awesome. IB is also a stunning color, less common and for those who think a large sedan should be in a darker color this one is just dark enough where you won't be horrified to see every swirl mark like black. Flip a coin.

White. The body looks better in a lighter colour

I prefer the darker colours, especially blues, but, after two Scottish winters, I'm extremely glad that I went for AW. It's suffered from a good deal of stone chips, but you have to look very close to see them. It was the opposite on my previous car, an E92 in Le Mans Blue - a lovely colour but the primer is white and it doesn't take long for the chips to show.

I have had (and have currently) white vehicles. Not really a big fan and only reason why I bought this white was because it had a steep discount for a ordering error. Anyway, I digress, I find white to be blinding to my eyes when looking at it, I think blues and darker colors take a bit more work but if you enjoy cleaning your car and have a garage you wont make a mistake with the IB. My 2 cents!

The Imperial Blue is an austere colour. White screams "look at me". So it depends on who you are. A sophisticated, classy individual.......or a hooligan. ;-)

AW makes the car stand out and "feel" young. IB is more mature and if you have a oyster interior it's a great looking car. Either color is perfect.

Imperial Blue is a really sexy color. However it requires more maintenance, whereas AW can be run through a machine car wash.

I think Oyster looks better on IB. Against the contrast of a white interior, Oyster looks beige.

This is counter-intuitive - but if you go to the dealer and have a look at a white/oyster versus a dark color/Oyster you will see what I mean.

in that point of reference IB is little better than AW but i am worried about the cloudy winter season when it doesnt sparkle that much....it may end up looking like a toyota blue?

It looks nothing like a Toyota Blue. It is a very deep color. It has a deep dark shine in cloudy conditions. Looks menacing. Very similar look to Dark Graphite in cloudy conditions but bluish as opposed to greyish.

The key is to keep the car shiny and waxed. If you have the car permanently covered in dust, then it will look dull. However only white and silver look good covered in dust. All other colors look dull covered in dust.

Bottom line - if you don't plan to wash your car get White or Silver. I think Silver looks better than White on the F10.

BTW I had a similar concern and one thing I did - which you should too - is go to dealer on a cloudy day. Find an IB F10. See how it looks. If it is dusty (which most lot cars are), ask them to wash it. I found the IB didn't look fantastic on the lot, but when they washed it, it looked superb even under the clouds.

I agree with stealth.pilot. I have had white and silver vehicles before and these two colors are the easiest to maintain. From 5-10 feet away, you can't even tell that it hasn't been washed. That is one of the reasons I got my F10 in white. Even when it's dusty or cloudy, it still looks good.

My experience is the opposite. I have IB and my friend AW on his 320. Neither of us clean our cars more than once every few months and whilst mine certainly doesn't shine when unwashed his just looks like a big dirty mess from any viewing distance.

if you are set on oyster/black, go for IB (or CB, DSB, true black).. oyster on AW is just strange. it kinda looks tan but not tan enough.

that said, AW or TS shows of the msport bumper the most. just be sure to get a black interior.
