I know its a stupid question for a twin turbo V8 but how did it do on fuel economy? Did it improve or decrease? Also was the exhaust (catback or axel back) the only hard parts you had installed on your car? would the tune work with the stock hardware?

Thanks!

As far a gas mpg it's going to be the exact same as your current. If you drive normal not getting on it. Also depends what setting you're in on the ESS. If you run the high boost setting and get on it then yes it will effect you mpg. I don't know what the differences would be I never got into detail with it. But was the same when I would put the blank piece on it when I bring it into the dealer to service the car. The only real time you will notice the change in mpg is when you get on it more when the boost is actually applied. And that's one of the huge benefits to this system is you can set it how you want depending on your mods of your car. If you have no mods it will still make a difference just won't get the full HP out of it of course. This system doesn't limit you. You can run the highest setting with 93 octane and notice a difference. Won't effect or hurt your car. But of course you won't get the max HP out of the system. It's nice cause you have 3 maps and can adjust each map with the intensity you want out of it.

I've heard stories where dealers can trace some sort of history in the software of the car showing it was previously tuned? Is that true? I'm looking for a tune that will allow me to keep my CPO warranty if I remove it for warranty work but don't want to leave a trace behind (these cars are expensive to repair!)

No they can't trace it at least the ESS one you can't trace if you unplug the connector. I'm still under CPO warranty and actually recently had a good amount done and covered by my CPO warranty. They know the ESS is in the car but as long as it's unplugged from the system they don't care. Also with the ESS your not splicing wires into the car. Some of the JB4 you have to splice wires into the car or put wires into a junction box. This system is basically connectors to the hub box. Nothing significantly changing or altering your car significantly.

Oh good. I might buy it off you then, if my 550i ever decides to leave the shop the only thing I fear is damage caused by the tune, if there ever will be any. I'd hate to be responsible for a drivetrain malfunction caused by pushing a lot of power through the car, but I also want a fast car lol.

I have never experienced any issues and I used to have it at the max stage 2 output with 93 octane.

Is there a setting for 91? 93 is a unicorn here in Reno and would probably cost $4/gal + if it did exist.

I was about to pull the trigger and I got my third drivetrain malfunction this week. I'm going to wait and see if I can drive more than 5 days without an error after it's done at the dealer. Again. Then I'll most likely buy it lol

Yeah the maxed out on stage 2 is designed for 93 octane. You do a notch below still stage 2 it's for 91. I don't have 93 either but I either put in race and mix it to equal out 93 per tank. There is also a place that does 95 but that octane just runs way better in our cars.

If this was for the N63TU I would've bought this from you months ago. Can't believe it hasn't been picked up yet. GLWS!
