Dinan vs Remus exhaust - 535i recommendation
Hi all!
Looking to get your opinions on Dinan vs Remus exhaust. I am looking to replace the stock one on my car. I am also open to other suggestions. Looking for a nice throaty sound (of course without any drone). Thanks! --Andy |

M5 mufflers with an X Pipe. Don't keep the valves open. I've received nothing but compliments and there's no drone!

You can either change the diffuser or cut the original one

Thanks man, I really like it as well. Not super loud.. but WOT, its pretty sweet. No real welding needed. Comes with appropriate clamps as its an axle-back exhaust. Looks like you have an M-sport, so potentially the only thing you might have to cut is the rear valence at minimum or just replace it. Should be a pretty straight forward install.

i've seen guys use door edging after they cut out the section for the tips and it looks clean that way...just a suggestion

Remus for sure. Deep sound but not loud and obnoxious. I had a set and the build quality is top notch, especially with the CF inlays in the tips. Dinans are nice but I think they're way over priced.

definitely a good idea. I need finish mine off..it doesn't look bad from afar, but up close or if you scroll up for the video.. you can see the edges.

yup! from a distance it's not noticeable but when you get up real close you can see the cut edges not as smooth. someone posted to use black door edging and he posted a picture of it on his car and it looks like it's meant to be there...very clean.

thanks man, appreciate that info. Quick question if you recall, did the person use any adhesive to anchor in the door edging or did they just mold it to the bumper surface using regular pressure?

no adhesive as it was pretty tight just getting it on using his finger to push down to the edging of the bumper

Or just go with this instead of the Home Depot version. I believe it also comes in PU which is much cheaper but requires painting.

Here's the thread from the guy that used Pep Boys door edge molding. Looks pretty good and cheap. http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthre...ighlight=remus |
