Pathway/Interior lights stayed on

Hey guys... I stopped by the store while the wife stayed in the car. I turned the car off and left her inside with the doors unlocked.

My pathway lights are set for 40 secs... BUT both the pathway lighting and interior lights stayed on for 5 mins while I ran inside.

Any reason why they would stay on this long?

I believe you have to lock the doors.

I don't think that's the case since I never lock my car in the garage and they always shut off after 40secs.

I'm still confused

engine is off ... after stopping, you press A.S.S. for engine off and press again to turn off the entire car completely .. is this the case ? and your headlight is on Auto or manual ?

What? Are you afraid your wife is gonna steal your car? Plus, your leaving wifey out like a sitting duck.

Leave the car on my man when wifey is in it. She can't even hear some tunes while your in the store?

If I did that here, her boobies would ice up and crack off.

You pull the stalk and turn on your pathway Lighting in your garage?

Whose are not the pathway lighting, but just the halos/ angel eyes.

Behavior:
1) When you shut off the engine, the interior lighting turns on and if you have DRL on, the angel eyes stay on.
You open your door and you get out, close the door, the interior lighting should go off, the angel eyes will stay on.

2) When you shut off the engine and press the start/ stop button a second time, same behavior.

Both cases: 1) and 2) they time out on their own after a little while.

If you do not lock the car from outside, ignition/ electronics will automatically turn off after 8 minutes or so whether you have opened the door or not.

For 1) and 2) Everything mentioned + ignition/ electronics (instruments cluster + iDrive) will go off when you lock the car from outside with the FOB or comfort access.

Now if you shut off the engine and press the S/S button a second time and then push the turn indicators stack away from you, it will turn on the pathway lighting which uses the fog lights. They stay on for the duration you have set in Settings > Lighting.

If your interior lighting stays on, perhaps you have not closed your door properly?

Is this helpful?
