Apple CarPlay with NBT EVO ID6

I just got the ID6 unit installed in my F10 from https://retrofitmybimmer.com/

Costly for what it is but I believe it’s money well spent. Car feels brand new again! Much better option then the MMI add ons and it’s much cheaper then from Bimmer-Tech.

Got the unit in 2 days, installed in 1.5 hours (I was taking my time)Name: 81259064-3FB9-4C5D-B92C-5B82684D6DE3.jpeg

Did you get the ID6 touch screen or did you re-use the old screen. For anyone doing this, I highly recommend getting the G01 touch screen, it was the best upgrade I've done to the car.

Just using the previous 10.25” screen. May upgrade to the touchscreen in the future but for now it works great without the touch.

Is the resolution higher on the touchscreen version?

Yes, it really transforms the car. The touch function and the resolution were my favorite features of the retrofit. The pictures don't really do it justice as much as when you are sitting in front of it and seeing the vibrant colors.

You are already more than half way there, definitely recommend it as you already did most of the retrofit.

Forgot to mention, another thing I had to do is update the firmware as the original one did not allow for full screen apple carplay.

I had to do a bunch of rewiring and the guys that sold the unit remotely flashed a new version (over 150 GB), which took about 45 minutes, which allowed me to have apple carplay in full screen mode.
