What mileage have you had out of your tyres on your F10 / F11?

Hi - I have ordered two new rear's for my F10. I am down to the tyre wear indicator now. I have ordered the Conti Sport Contact 3's again, as I have had good performance and 35,500 miles out of these. I placed the tyre order 2 years and 1 day after I originally collected the car.

I was wondering what mileage others have had out of their tyres and what brands these are?

Cheers ...

Remaining treads' depth? If a couple of millimiters it is normal but not safe even if legal. I usually change my tires at 4 mm tread.

I have not measured the depth - they are down to the tyre wear indicator now - so this is at, or just over the 1.6mm mark, I believe.

What mileage are you getting when you change at 4mm? What brand / tyres are you using?

1.6 mm is not safe in case of heavy rain, indeed.
No statistics for my F10 being my first one, but I replaced my current summer tires (Dunlop SportMaxx RF) at 20,000 km with remaining 4.5 mm tread.

Thanks for your advice. I'll change earlier next time - probably at the 3mm tread depth - this seems to be a popular figure.

Have run my Pirelli sottozero 19" winter run flats all year round and they have now covered 28,000 miles and are down to 3mm on the rears and around 5mm still on the fronts

My rears replaced now. I had not realised quite how much different the grip of my car had begun to feel over the last few months.

Although I am pleased with the mileage I have extracted from the tyres, I certainly won't ever be going down to the 1.6mm limit again.

I think this limit needs revising to at least 2mm - probably a little higher.
