Rear Backup / Top-View Camera Distortion

Has anyone else seen this problem, where the rear backup / top-view camera has a large white spot?

It’s not ambient light from either the car or street and I’ve cleaned the lens, but the spot remains…

Make sure your rear view lens is indeed clean and is not scratched.

Faulty areas on CMOS camera sensors show up as white, so the camera may be damaged.

Alternatively, an infrared source can also show up as a white patch on the display. Is there anything hot nearby, or something that may be emitting/reflecting IR?

Thanks for your reply, but no, nothing hot or emitting/reflecting infrared.

I see this all the time, not in any particular area...

JUST A GUESS
Do you have a similar problem when you put it into reverse and just seeing the rear camera?
If yes, it is possible that your rear camera lens is slightly rotated toward the right and showing the reflection from the plate illuminator on the side of the plate housing. To test put two similar objects with equal l distance from the center line and see if the right one appears closer to the center.
