Snow socks

Anyone recommend a particular brand for snow socks? I like the idea of having a set in the boot to get me out of trouble should I need.

I've discounted the idea of a winter set of wheels and tyres on the grounds that the risk to benefit ratio doesn't stack up for me and my home location in Warwickshire where we rarely see snow.

winter tyres grip better than their summer equivalents at 7°C and below. I'm on Merseyside and we seldom see snow either but I've been fitting winter rubber since about 2010, I've just sold the winter wheels / tyres I bought for the e90 and overall they cost me about £100 pa to use, and that doesn't take into account the money saved in wear & tear on summer rubber, so realistically I'd guess at about half that!

Not the best solution for RWD, because you have to put the socks on all wheels! I both them for my E60 and not the easiest straight forward job like you see in the demo videos.
I went for a winter set not only for if and big if we get snow but mainly knowing they the best for wet conditions, plus the cost is not that bad since my summer tyres life is expended on the basis only used 8 months a year, I only go for tyres to keep the cost down, my dealer switches the tyres for me and align them too for nothing while the car serviced.

Drive off snow and onto tarmac and your snow socks will be destroyed within a few miles, so they could be on and off like a fiddlers elbow
