The more I drive my 535i, now, the more I'm impressed with the better/flatter handling characteristics attributed to the M5 front anti sway bar install. I tend to push the car more to it's limits after this modification. I'm not clear on the relative importance of rear bar and how it will further contribute to better handling, but curious to hear results from forum contributors' efforts going forward.

So far it fits the 535i X-Drive so I don't see why it wouldn't fit the 550i X-Drive as well.

The 535 and 550 share the same stock bars so yes it will fit the 550 xdrive since it works on my 535 xdrive.

I'll probably look into fitting it to my 520d too, if it doesn't feel right after lowering on KWv3.

I am also interested in front and rear or just front (if front alone does not throw off the handling in my 550i M-sport).

Thanks!

Guys screw the front and rear GB. The front alone is such a huge change theres no point waiting for something that may or may not happen if we can't find a rear bar that fits.

I decided to take a 3 year lease on an M Sport Package 6 MT 535i to be built shortly. Having experienced the M5 anti sway bar in my 2011 535i, I want to make sure it will work in the M Sport 535i if I order the "Dynamic Damper Control" or not order the "Dynamic Damper Control" at all.

I have DDC and it doesn't affect the type of sway bar that fits this car at all.

^^ Worth every penny for me. I like having the best of both worlds for days when I am driving solo and for days where i have my baby in the car with me.

Joe,

Thank you for your work in all our regard. As you may know, Nilson, on another forum, has successfully attached a 16mm M550d/650i rear sway bar, part# 33556791932 w/associated 2 bushings part #'s 33556788630 to a 535. 16mm may, in some instances, be an insignificant diameter upgrade to make a considerable difference in the handling of the vehicles to perhaps justify the expense of the upgrade. Would you, by chance, know the expected diameter of the rear anti sway bar you have on order?

Thanks, in advance.

Yeah, this bar we ordered is taking forever. Anyone who is interested in the front bar, we are happy to sell it at a discount for forum members. Please give us a call and Logan can help you source the bar. A few have already done so and we've shipped out bars.

The group buy would be a great idea, but we plan to sell them at a decent price anyway. Let us know if we can help and I hope to get this rear bar at some point.

Got a chance to swap out my front Passive M-Sport sway bar this past weekend. Been waiting to get the issue of the car pulling to the right resolved, which my Service Center was able to do! Top notch to those guys for the patience and commitment to get it done!! (I'll post in that thread later about how they fixed it).

I have the 2013 535i with passive M-Sport suspension - no ARS, no DDC.

Snapped a few pics using a caliper to measure the differences between the M-Sport FSB and the M5 FSB. Install wasn't that bad. Having the External Torx bit (Size E18) for the 4 bolts at the bushings definitely helped. Also, it was a lot easier to remove the bar by removing the plastic around the bar as well, held onto by just the panel screws. I didn't have to thread through anything to get the bar off. The plastic panel that was wrapped around the bar was flexible enough to just slide the bar through it, once you took that screw off. Didn't get to take pics of this, sorry, but its just a panel screw on the side.

Pic below of stock M-Sport FSB still mounted on car, measured with caliper:

Top=M5 FSB vs Bottom=Stock M-Sport FSB (off car):

Caliper Measurement of Stock M-Sport FSB (off car):

Caliper Measurement of M5 FSB:

End link angles - Left=M5, Right=MSport:

The 2mm increase in diameter from the Msport to M5 FSB, has a huge impact on handling, and the driving characteristics are pretty significant. Turn in is quicker, Bump transfer is more muted, and driving predictability is more accurate. The car just drives a lot better. Well worth the mod!!

You guys should definitely get this done. Forget the group buy, just get it, it definitely is a vast improvement!!

I haven't had a chance to drive it that much yet - only did a quick test drive over the weekend, and also just this morning's 10 minute "commute" to work, but the car definitely feels better.

Going over a few bumps, I can feel the rear end is a bit more sloppy now. Probably more prominent now because less resonating vibration in the front due to the thicker m5 sway. Still going to drive it a bit, but right now, it seems like I will eventually change out the rear as well.

Currently, another member (Nison) from a different forum have found a solution for the rear bar from the M550d/F12 to fit our F10. It's at 16 mm, also a 2 mm increase from the stock 14 mm (non-xi).

Fronts: 24 mm (stock MSport) --> 26 mm (M5)
Rear: 14 mm (stock MSport) --> 16 mm (M550d/F12)

^Awesome.
I know the 528 Msport ones are the 535 regular ones, and the 535 Msport are the 550 regular ones (or something like that).
Does this mean you should just go straight for the M5 26mm ones?
Are there any drawbacks, harshness, over speedbumps etc.?
