was looking into this as well... i think getbmwparts has it for almost a thousand.. not nice enough to justify spending that kind of money on trim.. maybe opt for a wrap instead?

It is a pain to maintain, but looks fantastic.

Did you get ceramic controls as well? Your shifter looks kind of polished but the other controls don't

From what I have been told by BMWNA directly, I am the only person with a 5-series in the US with this trim. Makes me happy to have something unique. I retrofitted the ceramic shifter. I also ordered a ceramic iDrive controller but the part I received was incorrect (wrong number of connector pins), so the appropriate version is on the way. I should have it by this weekend. I wanted a bit of contrast between the radio/HVAC controls. I feared that ceramic everywhere would be too dark. In hindsight, I should've just ordered the ceramic package. I think either way would look good. At some point, if/when I have some extra cash lying around, I will probably retrofit the remaining knobs in the front and rear, though this requires new AC and radio panels. Right now I'm paying for Dinan Stage 3 stuff plus new wheels/tires so Car Fund money is short. $650 (the cost of the ceramic option) seems a bargain in retrospect. The controller and shifter were nearly $800.

The piano trim would be much nicer if you have a lighter color interior. Black on black doesn't show the trim's beauty IMO. It is very nice if you were inside the cabin that's a fact.
