M Sport Package Diffuser Question

How do the stock M Sport Package Rear Diffusers attach to the rear bumper/cover? I have a 528i without the M Sport Package and am considering adding an eisenmann exhaust with the dual exhaust. I have seen some installs where the existing bumper cover was simply cut for the 2nd exhaust tips. While this looks OK, up close it looks a little unfinished to me. I was thinking about adding the M Sport Diffuser (probably from a 550i to get the wider openings) to complete the install. Has anyone done this? Any other options to consider?

This is a 520d with cut out for the right side twin tips, I think it looks good.

That is my question, can the M Sport diffuser be easily attached the standard bumper cover?

Not possible to attach the diffuser on a non-Msport bumper without major work.

exactly, he'll need 2 buy an m-sport bumper, otherwise there's alot of customization needed.

op, jus get a 550i non m-sport diff, it'll fit w/ no issues.

I think it looks very nice (apart from the right tyre

But the 520d (and 525/530d) have twin exhausts on one side only... are you sure this is a 520d... and if it is, are the right side exhausts just dummy exhausts?

Yes, I'm sure it's a 520d.
Pic of the exhaust from Hartge website.

Thanks for clarifying... seems an expensive way to go for a cosmetic upgrade.... but each to their own I guess

Unfortunately, you cannot just change the diffuser, you have to change the entire rear bumper to get the M bumper and M diffuser to work together.
Non-M bumper is ONE WHOLE piece. It looks like two separate piece attached together, but it is not.
