sport mode + exhaust tone
hello,
I own a 2011 550i just passed the break in period, and started fiddling with the sport mode. I noticed that when the car is in sport mode it sounds a bit throatier, I thought it was just me at first but then my friend told me the same thing. So I was wondering does the sport button has some sort function ( similar to the Porsche panamera or the Maserati GranTurismo) that makes the car sound a bit different. I am also thinking of installing an electronic exhaust cutouts, the sound in the videos, posted here a while back, is not really the sound I'm looking for. However I think that it might sound better in real life ( the straight pipe system on a friends X6 5.0 makes the best sounds I've ever heard on any V8 bimmer) and personally I really think that the stock exhaust is the only major downfall that the car has, my bro's old E60 550i made all the right sounds I don't really know why the F10 had to be so quite ( it's definitely not the engine's fault, the N63 produces beautiful symphonies in both the X5 and the X6 why didn't they use the same exhaust system in the F10). I already heard the AC schnitzer exhaust system but it was also a bit too quite in the video. The big advantage with electronic exhaust cutouts is that you get a sound similar to a straight pipe system with the ability to go back to a stock sounding system with a touch of a button. Any suggestions and perhaps revelations about the sport button would be greatly appreciated.
