Infrared reflecting window

Hi all,

I have an f10 on order but still in the stage where i can change last minute changes.I ordered the infrared reflecting window cause the car can be used for vacation in country' s where its a bit warmer than here in belgium.A friend of mine had it on its previous car an forgot to order it on his current car and regrets this very much.Passed weekend i saw a cayenne with a similar frontscreen and i was a bit shokked how oily this looked.
Is there anyone who knows if this wil be the case in an f10? If there is anyone who has pictures it would be a great help wheter i should keep the option or not.I would think that the fellow enthousiast in hotter parts of the world have more experience with this type of frontscreen.

thx

Hi,

I had that in my previous E90 and it was a horrible mistake !
Yes, the interior is a little bit cooler... but the isolation completely
degrades all the signals coming to the car !

The GPS and other data related programs on my iphone did not
work at all and i even had problems with my highway pass.

I chose not to have it in the F10 and everything works way better !

Regards,

Elie

Thx

But i called my dealer and it's too late for changes , he assured me that the phone when its coupled with the bluetooth wil function normally ,as also the gps uses the shark fin on de roof for connection.
Annyhow its too late and i can only comford myself in chosing a cooler car.

thx for your insight

Hi,

Your dealer is right. With the iPhone coupled you will get a very nice reception thru the fin antenna.
What i meant is that if you want to use a GPS related program in your phone (like a second gps or a speedtrap avoidance app) their reception will not be good.

For the rest you're pretty much covered.

Regards,

Elie
