What's up guys. Just hitting 76k miles on my 2011 550i. I am pleased with my BMS Stage 1 set at 2.5lbs boost, great power but I feel there's more to be tapped into.

I was wondering how much more power would I be able to squeeze out my stock turbos by upgrading from BMS Stage 1 to a jb4 if I only plan on running 93 octane pump gas?

Also. What are some power levels Pure Stage 1 turbos can achieve on only 93 octane and jb4 piggyback?

And is it even worth upgrading the turbos at 76k miles? Car runs great, no major problems (other than CCP and Fuel Pump recall) since I bought it 2 years ago (knock on wood).

Any input is appreciated. Especially from members who jumped from BMS Stage 1 to jb4.

Last I asked, they stopped development of it. Unless the representative I asked just didn't want to give out a release date.

Theres a couple things to consider about your 2011 550 that wouldn't make it cost or performance effective to put bigger or better turbos. One of the things and the most important is that there is nobody who can tune your DME, so you will never get the full potential from better turbos without the proper DME tuning. Secondly the ugly ass G30 is here and the 2011's are most likly going to be history to tuners and the aftermarket perfermance wise. I gave up on my quest to make this heavy pig fast, your best option would be getting a n63Tu and starting over or getting a better car to feed your need for speed. My 2011 comes in at 4300lbs with all the options it has plus another 175lbs (me) and 215lbs from my subs, amp and second battery. Thats a total of 4690lbs with just me the car and my very necessary added subwoofer box and 4300watts of bass to haul around at GTR speeds. Just my 2.5 cents homie

Yep was definitely thinking the same thing about these motors but then I came across this n63 with pure turbos and meth kit makin 640whp.

Not looking to run meth so I'm not expecting those numbers but I'd be content if I can get roughly 550whp.

But I'm curious what numbers I can expect if I only plan on running 93 octane pump gas, coupled with my catless pipes and soon to be jb4.

Agreed with the DME is untunable. BMS or any piggyback is as good as it gets for that car. If you dropped any aftermarket turbos in there you wouldn't gain much unless the DME was remapped for them. In the near future it might be possible to swap the DME for a 2014+ computer which is highly tunable. Get in touch with MissionPerformance on that. N63TU 2014 DME is programmable up to 550+ whp on stock turbos.

Mike, What are the odds to have you drive to Atlanta and have the best IND mechanic Jay install the Alpina's and Sergei flash tune? Love to have you join the party
