When DSC kicks in to stablise the car, does the warning appear in the HUD?
Apoligies but I'm being lazy here! I've not (to the best of my knowledge) tripped the DSC system to intervene yet, just wondering if it shows up in the HUD? (In the same way as a control message?)
Reason I ask is from the E70 HUD PDF I post a link to on another thread which states :- Image Sources The following control units provide content for display in the HUD: • Central Head unit And Multimedia Platform CHAMP/Car Communication Computer (CCC) • Instrument cluster (KOMBI) • Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) |

No. I think what it is telling you is an enabled or disabled indicator (you can disable it in Sport+ or manually).
i.e. it doesn't light up when it kicks in. Believe me it is kicking in all the time without you even knowing it (I recall the VW's and Audi's I have had do flash up with a car skidding logo when traction is really lost, e.g. in snow when your tyres are spinning, but I have never seen that in my BMW under similar conditions.. it hasn't happened)

Not in the HUD. But in the dashboard it does when you are going sideways. Not sure if it will do it just for a little intervention or not, but when you are playing around, it will flash like crazy in the dash. But like jedpause says, I think it kicks in all the time, but without any warnings.
When you drive in sport+ it backs off like 15% or something, and there is a great difference. |
