Roof leaking water!!! ADVICE???

My car is a '13 550i with about 8000 miles on it and all of a sudden the fin on the roof is leaking water into the car all over the back seat! I'm curious if any of you have had this problem? I like the car a lot but for the money I paid I'm sure having a lot of problems! Not to menchin but I've owned 4 benz's and currently own 2 and have never had a single issue like I do with my bimmer! Not sure what to think anymore about bmw and everytime a stupid issue comes up with this car which has nothing to do with me or how it's drivin it's in the shop for 1-2 weeks while I'm still making a lease payment and driving a 3 series loaner!? ANY ADVICE???

I've had BMWs since 1985 and never had a leak or any major problems.

Your 2013 is still under warranty -- bring it back to the dealer.

Shark fin is not sealed off properly. Has anyone taken it off for any reason? Did you get your roof wrapped or anything like that? If not I would bring it in to have them seal it property and replace your rear seat bench that sustained water damage.

No never wrapped roof or anything! Not sure y it could be loose but the water came in where the 3rd break light is and went on the back part of the seat ! Why would I have them replace seat?

Thought the seat was damaged from the water intrusion. Did you buy the car new?

Mine leaked at the same spot and it was due to the antenna. Why did it leak? Viggsdesign did a half ass shitty job when they wrapped my roof and didn't seal off the antenna properly. Water got in and damaged my nappa leather seats too. Lucky that was on my 2013 535 not the current car.

Stupid question lol but how did u notice your leather was ruined? Anything in particular? I bought the car brand new and never did anything but wash and garage it? What else should I be looking at to see if it is damaged?

You seem to love Benz , I think you should trade this car on one. I wouldn't put up with a leak.

Alan told me about his mishap with his antenna so when I had my roof wrapped I made sure they resealed it pretty good. They used some of the black sealant that is used to seal windshields on mine (at first it was just double sided tape, but I had them redo it). I agree you should not be having this issue on a brand new car, but seems like an easy fix. I would bring it in the to dealer and have them fix it properly. Make a big fuss about it and try to get something out of them.

Yeah, like a second car for free. They should do that because of the leak.

I have nappa leather in my car so its more prone to damage. What didn't help was that the water leaked right behind my baby seat so i didn't notice it right way. It kept the leather saturated for who knows how long and it dryed it out. The leather was wrinkled and got alittle hard in that spot. Non nappa leather is a lot more durable so you might be ok

I just hope mold doesn't end up growing in the roof over this!! It's a problem that should never happen on a bmw! Yea I'm kinda glad now I didn't get the nappa leather haha

If you've never dismantled the antenna, it may just be a factory workmanship issue. I'd just take it to BMW and have them rectify the situation. If you haven't messed with it, it's clearly a warranty issue.

I brought it there and they had no bmw loaner and wanted to give me a hertz rental but I refused as I pay to drive a bmw and if I wanted to dive a focus I would've bought a ford!! Every time I bring my car in they have it for a week longer then it should ever take! So slow idk why! so they gave me an appointment for a week later! It's a lease so if there car gets f'ed up it's there money being lost! At this point I'm just do annoyed with bmw period!

Is there a way to email bmw directly to let them know the troubles I'm having! Like how I've owned the car for only 8 months and it's been in the shop 3 times already for workmanship errors!!??

Is this the dealer you bought from? Highly unusual not to have a loaner for a customer. If it is, how's your relationship with your salesperson? Mine has dealt with me on two cars and has offered to help out if there are any service issues. Also a car with a leak should get immediate attention.

I was joking. If you aren't happy with the brand, you should get rid of it. From your post it sounds like you've never had a problem with Merc - so why would you change to BMW?

I've isolated your problem, STACKZ89: excessive punctuation.
