The M sport steering wheel is a little thicker than the sports wheel. Here in Sweden it's about €300 extra over the standard wheel.

It cost me £110 for mine (divide by 48 for monthly cost - 4 yr lease)

I am up for this as well and have no delusions about my 520d being an M5 (the M symbol on the gearknob was illuminated in my M5 btw, which was pretty cool).

Well it turned out to be £150 including VAT but only took 2 minutes to fit (it is a simple compression fit so no tools required). It feels and looks a whole lot better than the standard gear knob. I can recommend it.
