Ambient lighting questions.

I have a 535ix and don't have the illuminated BMW logo on the door sill. I've seen photos of it so wondering if it is not standard across all models? In canada, the ambient lighting package is standard on all 5 series models. Someone mentioned that the BMW logo illumination is only on the 550i but no one else have confirmed. I'm posting this question here hoping someone can verify this information as I'm not getting much responses from the interior lighting thread.

Also I find the door illumination to be quite dim in my car. They are only really noticeable in near complete darkness. Is this true for everyone else? The pictures make it seem quite bright.

The door illumination in the picture looks quite bright to me - though it may be because of the camera.

There is a control next to the headlight switches that controls the brightness. Maybe yours isn't set to the brightest setting.

What color is your interior? My 325i coupe has a black interior and ambient lighting is hardly visible. My news 520d has a cinnamon interior and i hope ambient lighting is better visible.

That 2nd photo of ambient lighting is from my car. I can assure u it doesn't look this bright in real life. It was just the camera setting. As mentioned already, you can always adjust the brightness to your liking via the brightness knob.

That's good to know that the camera is making the lighting look brighter. I have it a maximum. Now what about the BMW logo? Anyone other than a 550i owner have that illumination?

The lighted BMW logo is an optional accessory in the U.S. Can probably order it from a dealer.

Thanks. I winder why it's exclusive to the 550i. In Cananda the ambient lighting package is standard across all models. Ild assume they are the same package.

Can this be added as a DIY thing? The doors? Looks if it would be possable..

I have cinnamon interior with ambient lighting, it's visible and very soothing, we like it alot since the amber lights blend nicely with the cinnamon color.

The illuminated BMW logo is standard for the 550i as is not available for any other model (in Germany, maybe it's different in other countries)!
