I don't know why but the 6 series looks 10x better in person than in pictures.

I've tried so hard to love it, but I can't. The current model is as good as it's been, but the car is just too much of a boat for me. It's a very big coupe. I mean, the 5-series is a big car... but it at least has 4 doors and a real back seat to help justify it. The 6-series is almost just as big! Why?

The Gran Coupe 6 4 door. Everyone knows the 4 and 6 is more about aesthetic than anything. And they both look good. The 6 isn't really a boat, it's about the same size as the 5.

Honestly, I would've bought the 6 GC over the 5 if it wasn't for the insane price premium.

When I first started looking at the Bimmers, my interest was the 6 GC which is a beautiful car, but as said by others, the aesthetics didn't justify the price premium for me. Particularly as the 6 and 5 share the same platform. With the 5, I was able to personalize the car, make it mine and i'm absolutely in love with it (and still come in at a cost less than the 6 GC).

I absolutely LOVE the 6GC - it's the standard 6 I was talking about... for a 2-door coupe, I just find it too large. But I understand that's the target market - older crowd, primarily, who wants a luxury land-yacht of a coupe.

The 6GC is a really beautiful car - probably what the 6 should have been from the get-go. But as others have said, the price premium is hard to swallow over the 5 - including the loss of a seat (albeit a small and rarely used middle-back seat).

I'll probably consider the 6GC in about 2 more years when I look to get rid of the 550xi. If the new 5-series is really a nice upgrade, I may stick with that - otherwise, I think the 6GC may be calling!

Went to book my car in for a change of brake pads today.

A friend of mine is a salesman in the dealership, he tried to get me to buy the new M4. Here's some pictures I took off my phone, not the greatest quality.... I don't normally go for bright colours, but the M4 Coupe in Yas Marina Blue was lovely. It looks like a pastel blue from a distance but is actually a pearlesent finish, looks great with the contrasting black alloys and carbon roof. Almost bought it!!

He also showed me the new i8, have any of you tried getting in one? The access is a joke. So you walk up to your car looking all cool and then look like a total idiot trying to cram yourself into it!! It's like trying to get yourself through a large letterbox
