Suspension on Non-M sport 550i.

Hey, everyone

Honestly... I pulled the trigger too soon on a 2011 550i. I got a good deal, but my 550 doesn't have M-sport. I have the sport package, which is pretty much cosmetic only.

I was wondering what would you guys suggest to improve handling? I don't have DHC, which is seriously unfortunate and I did not realize until I signed the papers hahaha. Stupid I know.....

My 550 is seriously like a boat around corners right now. I have looked into H&R vs ACS springs, but what would the f10 community suggest?

I am new to the forum and would greatly appreciate feedback.

H&R springs and M5 sway bar and you will see a huge difference.

Another quick question.

Would it be worth getting a 16mm rear sway bar? or would it be best to just start with the front M sway bar?

I think the rear bar is worth it for a more balanced feel (Just the M5 front bar alone will reduce roll but you'll tend to understeer more without an upgrade to the rear bar). If you haven't already, check out this very thorough, earlier post on the subject of sway bars :http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=717144

Hey, thanks for the link. I've actually read through the whole thread. literally EVERY comment ahahha.

I'm having a tough time deciding because it seems that most members(at least the ones discussing suspension upgrades) have DHC and ARS. I don't even have the option to toggle between Sport+, Sport, Normal, Comfort. So I guess ones I change the suspension that's all I get. Because I can't toggle between the different driving modes.

Sorry kind of lengthy. Just in kind of a weird pickle... I assumed too much when purchasing. I figured my particular 550i would also have the DHC. haha

These sways won't fit cars with ARS.

As a continuation of my research:

Has anyone here seen premature wear on the stock shocks after installing H&R springs? Found a pretty decent deal on craigs and would like to know possible side effects before "Springing" on this deal. haha
