JB Stage 1 on 2014 550 - Lease: yes or no?
So i'm considering the JB Stage 1 kit for my 550i. The car is leased thou: my question with that is, can BMW see that the car has been "fiddled" with? Can this cause me potential issues down the line?
thank you! |

I have a 2014 and yea.. its that good. I ran a 12.3 at 112MPH with the JB stage 1
I ran a 12.1 at 113mph with race gas. ALSO... I dynoed 440HP and 491TRQ Your call. Its easily removable. Its plug and play. takes me 15 seconds. |

so its easy enough to install and remove even without any knowledge (as in, i've never installed a mod before)?
Also, does it automatically clear any signs of the mod once i removed it or do I need to take additional steps before i.e. taking to to a service appointment at my dealer? |

Install is plug and play. just like pluging in your T.V wire into the wall outlet.
There are and will bo no Check engine lights of any sort nor will it be detectable once removed. Go to BMS website and you will see. Dude just do it. Or... Wait for a real Tune |

They won't know. You can probably slip in a N55 motor in there before the lease is up, throw a N63 engine cover with some epoxy, and it'll be weeks, if not months before they realize wtf... by then, the car isn't in your posession, its not your problem... the inspector mainly checks the exterior and interior wear and tear of the vehicle.
Seriously. My 2011 is going back on on a lease in July, I just had a JB S1 installed and pulled it before I gave it to the dealer to have them replace the turbos, steering wheel, seatbelts, etc... for fun. Once it comes back, I'm throwing the Stage 2 in. |

Sorry for the threadjack reply; the car was a dealership whore, and probably went to 10 different dealerships within the Tri-State area throughout its last 40K miles. Somewhere at one point or another when the dealer was changing the coilpacks/injectors, they had to remove the intake tubing from the turbo's (i dont see any other reason why they would), so when the imbecile went to put them back on.. the screws went in sideways, stripped the threads and left the bolts half way out, and decided to silicone the tube to the turbo. Nothing ever happened... but when I was digging around for fun, I discovered the contraption and had the dealership look into. Since the threads were stripped, they ordered new turbo's.
Again, sorry for the but since we already answered your question, I guess its ok... |
