Quick tip on coilovers

For those on a budget and not able to get KW (about $3k) or Moton coilovers (about $5k), the options out there are not as limited as people may think.
Brands like KSport, Megan, BC, and others are all a matter of color choice. I have a friend who's father-in-law owns the factory in Taiwan that makes ALL of those brands. They are all made on the same assembly line and using the same methods. So, if you know someone who really "loves" their BC coils, and you are looking at Megan or KSport - no worries, they are identical except for color

When i first looked into coilovers i did all my homework on the different brands and such and yes i did learned those products were all coming from the same manufacture and getting restamped for who ever it was going to like Megan, BC, ect. KW suspension also has their sister brand label which is ST(Sporttech & Speedtech) except the housing i heard is not corosion proof

here's an example of what ST discription of their ST coilovers:

Looking for that perfect balance between comfort and performance, styling, and handling without sacrificing ride quality and comfort? Your search is over, from the company that brought you the KW V1, V2, and V3, we have the perfect ST Coilover to suit your car needs. Coilovers are the BEST suspension solution for aftermarket applications, simply because all of the parts are designed to compliment and function perfectly with each other. As opposed to playing the guessing game of buying springs and shocks separate.

yup been telling that to people all the time, but because they pay 100$ more for BC they think they are better.

When I tell people I got megan coilovers on my 550i they look at me funky ... hey do as you please and pay more for the same exact thing in another color with different stickers lol

+1. I mean I dunno about 1 factory but im sure the raw materials come from no more than a handful. Same story applies to all those sub $350 catless downpipe(s) for N54, all the sub $150 chargepipes, majority of the sub $500 FMIC kits, and 80% of all lip kits that are produced in bulk. Shit, just last night I found out that a replacement connector/dsub housing for my JB4 was only ..$0.69

To a certain extent, same goes with wheels. There's a thread I read regarding a guy that wanted to design a line of wheels and get them manufactured in China. He met with several companies and took tours of these manufacturing plants. He stated that, most cast stuff, like Niche, AG, etc. + replicas were all made in the same plant. So bottom-line, those $1600 cast Vossen vs $900 replicas may be the same wheel.

Yep, which is why if I was going for some cast wheels VMR would be at or near the top of the wish list. A set of VMRs goes for about $1000 for 20", and they have a great reputation.
Niche, as with almost all "American" cast wheels are made by MHT.
For my F10 it will be forged, or nothing, more specifically looking at Klassens

Klassens are great. I know the owner Frank very well. If you're ever interested in getting a set let me know, I'll tell him to take care of you.

Will do bro, I was trying to decide between gloss and matte bronze - then he showed me pics last night of a set he made with a matte navy blue, they looked black at night and the blue really pops in the sun. That got me thinking, they looked soooooo good
