After few days driving the problem is still exist. Especially on slippery road surface and windy weather. Feels dangerous. It helps a little to adjust the suspension but not a solution, no way.

For steering purposes it is advisable not to drink more than one Singapore Sling before driving your F10.

I took delivery of my 520d with 19" wheels the day before yesterday. Ive done 500 miles already and the car definitely pulls to the left when driving straight and I agree that steering does not centre fully automatically. Ive just booked mine in an I hope its something thats fixable. Ive just changed from a 2 year old 3 series and the steering feels really unresponsive compared with that until you make a major turn of the steering wheel. Also turning right feel feels heavier than turning left. Is this common with the 2011 5 series?

KDS aliginment all checked out 100%, and my problem is unresolved.

Car is going back to the dealer for a few days next week for further investigation.

I definitely have this same experience. Heavier, and it seems to be tighter. In other words, turning the wheel to the right 90 degrees seems to instigate a sharper turn than 90 degrees to the left.
Do you have integrated active steering?

I had an extreme case of pulling to the right. Car was at the dealer for a week and just got it back this past Monday. After the dealer tinkered with the alignment, adjusted the struts, did a tire switch and updated software, it made the steering feel much worse.
I'm now getting the drifting, to the left and right, still pulling to the right and requiring constantly correction and it's impossible to keep it straight on the highway with a strong cross wind.
What really kills me is that the car was released to me with the claim that the problem was resolved and there's no more pulling to the right.
Taking it in again on Tuesday and will not sign off on the work order until the problem is resolved.

Drifting to the right

Just took a road trip with 4 people to AZ. I have around 2500 miles on my 550i. My car drifted to the right the entire trip. My arms were getting tired trying to keep the car in my lane. Going to take car in to get this fixed. I doubled checked the tire pressure and all tires were set a 35. Sounds like there is a software update and suspension tuning solution. I hope so...

New 535xi Ordered

I'm getting rid of my new 535. I had the grinding and pulling problems - which now appear fixed. However I just have a bad vibe about this early build 535 now. The steering remains vague and unplanted, and while many like the new steering, I do not.. to each his own.

The good news is I have ordered a new Space Grey Metallic M-Sport 535xi with PDC, NAV, Comfort, Premium, Cold Weather and HUD. The steering on this car feels better and I love the M-Sport look. Should be delivered in April, then i'll sell the old one..

Dulles, you say that the two issues appear to be fixed, yet you're willing to take the financial hit and go through the trouble of getting into a new 535xi.
My experience is similar to yours, but I'm still hopeful that BMW will stand behind their product and remedy the problem. Early build or not, they're responsible for fixing any problems under warranty for any vehicles they sell.

I understand that you want nothing to do with the EPS, but I'd be interested in hearing why you're letting BMW off the hook so easily.

Read my post ref F10 steering wheel not centering. My car does not pull to the left but will centre better after a right hand turn but not fully centre after a left turn. Turning left does feel very very slightly different (lighter) to turning right but not much and does not distract from driving. I checked with the dealer today who says that alignment is the main cause of the steering not centering but my car has had 2 KDS alignments and the 2nd one was spot on. What is interesting is that if I snatch the wheel either left or right and let go it will centre but a gentle turn to the left and let go will leave it going left where as gentle turn to the right and let go it will start to centre. Reading all the posts mine seems like a good one!! I would say all F10's are like this it's just some are a bit worse than others and also some drivers are more sensitive to steering feel than others. I was happy with mine till I started looking for faults!!

The problem is that with both faults (grinding/pulling) now fixed, BMW NA will not discuss taking the car back.. after all its fixed. A BMW technician from their HQ was sent to my dealer to test the steering and he found it "within specifications". So that's their viewpoint. Mine is as Car and Driver magazine said - the steering is awful, and then it causes you to start second guessing other parts of the driving experience. The video game steering makes me a little leary and without a planted feel. So at this stage it is either live with it, or buy a new car then sell the 535.

As far as BMW, their customer service has been dreadful. They refused to take the car back, and often bounced issues between BMW NA and the local dealer in an eternal game of ping pong, never with resolution. I can't sell my 535 back to the dealer because its "too new" and wouldn't be a certified pre owned. Further for a few more $$, a person could buy a new one - all this per a local sales guy. All rubbish, but thats the way they want it.

So it's not so much about letting BMW off, its just my options are very limited.

BMW should be proud having you as its customer, thumbs up on your choice of another F10. I wouldn't dare if I were in your position. HPFP on 3 series has never 'really' been addressed as far as I can remember, and so will this infamous 'pulling' I'm afraid.

I'm on my 2nd F10. If I had my way, I would have preferred to get my money back and walked away from BMW, never looking back. Tis a shame tho - aside from the pull issue, the F10 is an outstanding car.

Not sure if it helps, but it is a good '2002 old' reading about pulling/tracking that someone posted on mbworld forum.

http://www.continentalimports.com/ser_ic4232.html

"From years of making adjustments, I can tell that if the vehicle has a non-tire-related drift/pull, the caster bias side to side will need to be changed at least a degree along with a stacking of camber to the opposite side by at least a half degree. This becomes especially important on the new suspensions that are used on 202/210/208 and other models. These cars have no on-car correcting mechanisms (i.e., cams, shims and turn buckles). "
