Sway bars

I have a 2012 535xi........... of course it handled like a boat, I have lowered it (H&R springs) , and replaced the front sway bar with a M5 sway bar. Huge difference almost night and day. However, its still not how I want it. I know it will never handle like my E60.

I am thinking I should change my rear sway bar as well. I have researched and I keep seeing the 650i sway bar may work. Is there a specific year? or part code? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

There's allready a long thread on this subject in the suspension section:

I recently installed the M5 Comp Pack front sway bar and M550d rear sway bar. Excellent combo, see the other thread for more detailed review

You may want to consider the H&R front and rear sway bars http://www.hrsprings.com/application...ts/4/1303/2012 They look and feel stiffer then any BMW ones. I hope not too much, to avoid converting the car into a hard trolley)

Do you have any info on stiffness of the H&R bars relative to the M5 and M5 Comp Pack sway bars?

External diameter differences between H&R and the M5 bars might not mean that there is the same relative difference in stiffness...

You are right, the thick bars can be made from another steel and with different technology that really matters to physical properties.
And no, I never intended to compare CP to H&R because already got a set of M5/650i. Other members can choose what they believe fits better.

Part numbers for all BMW:
1. M5 front sway bar: 31 35 2 284 460
2. M5 Competition front sway bar: 31 35 7 850 119
Both are 26mm on center area, side area is 30mm, but competition front center area 26mm is just shorter than normal M5.

3. M550dx/650ix rear sway bar: 33 55 6 791 932
plus Bushings, two: 33 55 6 788 630

Fronts: 24mm (stock) --> 26mm (M5)
Rear: 14mm (stock) --> 16mm (M550d/F13)
