My average mpg numbers in the speedo area and in the Idrive display just started to give me real time mpg, not average. Basically, it's constantly changing from '--' at stop to i.e. '14' at acceleration and continually changes during my drive. Just wondering if I did something wrong or is there a gliche. This has never happened before. It's always given me a constant average number. I tried going into Idrive and turning the average mpg off and on but that didn't do much. Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced. Apologies to those that think this is trivial or that I should read my manual instead of posting a question.

Push the button on the end of the left stalk and cycle thru the display parameter.

you can also configure what settings you want to display with the use of the "BC" button.
For example, my car I have just got instant MPG, Distance to empty and average MPG and current speed limit.. From memory there are about 8 or so possible items that can be configured to be displayed using that.
