It looks like they were either mixing the incorrect color code or using a cheap make of paint.

BASF Glasurit is the official BMW refinish paint and Standox is the supplier of the factory paint (Spies Hecker is the same as Standox aswell, same company different tin).

They develop their mixes directly with BMW so the match will be very good with a proper colormatcher.

See if any place near you uses these or other top brands
Thanks for all the info! Yea I'm in the process of finding another shop to deal with. I've already had this bumper painted twice by the same painter and shop. This is just wasting too much of my time. Time I don't have! Wish they would have gotten it right. Already had to take off and install bumper twice. What a hassle.

Also would you say PPG or Axalta good paint to use? Can't find any shops that use the brands you listed. Thanks.

Yea I paid with a Credit card. Have a dispute in place and hopefully credit card company will reimburse me full amount this week so I can go somewhere else. I demanded a refund but the owner said NO since they have painted my bumper twice and fulfilled everything on original invoice. Told them it doesn't match but they said paint is about 95% matching which is total BS. I really don't want to take it back to them a 3rd time since I've wasted so much time over last 2-3 weeks with these guys.

Haha I agree. Went to a shop near by and now regret it. Asked them specially and expressed my concern about paint match before they started. They promised a match but I got this paint.

I noticed you are in Dallas. What shop did you use? Do you know what brand paint they used since I think this may be the problem as to why it's not matching. And how much did you pay just for them to paint bumper? Just want to see what price range I should be paying. Thanks.

CC company put a temporarily hold on the amount charged. Crappy thing is the shop has 60 days to dispute it so my credit won't be permanent until after 60 days with no dispute. But if they dispute then it's back and forth with documentation until case is fully resolved. Was hoping to get credit back for sure soon but at least I won't have to pay it for now.

Because it was cost them more to use that instead of their own paint. And than they'll have leftover paint which than won't be able to use Unless they get another AW BMW to paint. At least that's what my shop tells me.

There's a website you can buy the factory paint by the pint/quart instead of a whole gallon. And it's actually not too expensive.

One oft overlooked avenue of relief in these circumstances is your insurance company.

It could be argued that these blokes in essence damaged your car by using the wrong paint.

Please post the contact info of the manager and we will all call to convey our complete dissatisfaction.

Ok there's a shop that uses PPG (not sure which line) but to respray they are asking $350 total for paint and labor but I'll have to install bumper myself. I'll call the dealership and see how much OEM 300 paint cost for the pint or quart since not sure how much is need for rear bumper. This way it be more guarantee match if the shop wiling to discount price and use paint I bring in. Also what website has the OEM paint?

I didn't think about claiming it on my insurance but they may be a route I'll take if credit card stuff falls through. I'll wait and see what happens for now.

Yea that's who I plan to call. How much should I expect to pay for OEM paint?

Is the PPG shopline good quality and is $350 to respray rear bumper a reasonable charge?

Not sure how much it will cost u since it's been some time since I did that. However $350 is about average....usually I get my hook-ups So I can normally get it done for like $200 Maybe $150. But that's because I get alot of work done from them.
