anyone successful installed v style lip on rep msport bumper? updated with photos
Hi, i really like this front lip, V style:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-2015-BM...c980bb&vxp=mtr But most sellers told me it won't fit M sport "aftermarket" bumper. Anyone successful having it installed on your aftermarket bumper? Providing some photos would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Last edited by jasonle89; 05-19-2015 at 05:15 PM.. |

The shown $190 piece is a fake Vorsteiner. The original one has a different bottom side but this is not the major issue. The most critical thing is to have the front edge fitting tightly the side curves, the fog light grills and the central part. No gaps allowed. Since the ebay item is a replica, the fitment is deemed at the buyer's risk. You should just agree with the seller on return and refund option if the piece will not fit.

My concern is that if you see my other post that I review my aftermarket bumper, the issue I had was the bottom doesn't fit tight, so at first it created some ripple curving parts after screw on. Then my shop tried to fit it by drilled additional 2 holes. Now it's better. But then I'm thinking if the lip install using the original screw holes to screw on, then it won't line up since they are not not the original holes

So you installed it using 3M and screw it on the existing holes on the bottom engine cover? |

OK now I see what you mean: the bumper is replica, too. My case is different, because I have the OEM M Techniс package and the lip is the original one: http://www.vorsteiner.com/bmw/5-seri...front-spoiler/
In your case you can consider the BMW M Performance front lip , it is not so critical to the bottom of the bumper, and the blister in the centre can be settled. Or if you dislike that style and want the initial variant - it makes sense to try it with replica, just more work. A good tech can make it using heating, carving and glass sealant instead of 3M tape. But still keep return and refund option until the tech will have a look and commit to do it properly. |
