Getting ready to Plasti Dip Rear Diffuser

Wish me luck ! Starting to get her prepped. I am going to mask off the exhaust next and start spraying.

I plan on spraying about a half inch away from the line and peeling back. We'll see how it comes out. If it sucks, I'll peel it off.

Don't worry too much. Plasti dip is great to work with and easy to peel off if u make a mistake or don't like how it looks.

Thanks.. I am sure I will like the look. Getting a straight line is what I am more worried about. I am super picky so if the line doesn't come out perfect I will start over.

Woah!!! that's alot of masking you have to do lol~

I strongly suggest that you put a ball of paper in the exhaust because Plasti dip is a extremely flammable product and
also cover the exhaust tips because the tips gets so hot 320 degrees++ that which make the dip dry and will be PITA to take off~

2 Years of Dip experience,
Your Welcome~

Awesome thanks... Yes, I wrapped the exhaust pretty well. At this point I am just trying to prevent getting to high on the fumes..LOL

Still working on getting a few edges for perfection, but for a $6 investment, I can't complain!

Here are the final results. The straight line across came out perfect, but it was really hard to get the plasti-dip to follow the groove where it rounds from horizontal to vertical. There are some very small imperfections there. It looks pretty good unless you literally have your face up to it. I am a perfectionist as I am sure most people on the board are so not sure how long I will keep it on. Every time I pass the car I stare at the spot that isn't perfect…LOL

Let me know what you guys think

Not bad from here. I'd smoke out/black out the reflectors as well as they're so close to the black diffuser they look like they should be somehow "connected" in terms of uniformity in color. The M Sport bumper on the other hand has the reflectors so close to the taillights that I think they look better red as they compliment the red on the tallights.

Is the imperfection on the right side?

Don't worry man, they won't notice it unless their eye is literally 2 inches close-
Plus it's always hard to get a clean line if the body lines doesn't have any cracks or separation.

Good Job Man!

Thanks!

Yep, You can't notice the imprecation unless you are literally an inch away. (Still bugs me tho)..LOL

You can't really see it in this picture.

Looks awesome!

I've had plastidip on my exhaust tips for over a month with zero probs btw. Thunderstorms to 90 degree weather and city and highway driving still looks like the day I did it. I know several other F10'ers that did the same with no probs.
