a6 vs 535i

Idk but this video is complete bullshit to me. The a6 is no way that much faster than the bmw. I think these guys are hired by audi to give this review. I looked up 0-60 stats and the a6 goes 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. and the 535i goes 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. Not much difference but still something. The way the guy in the bmw started off was just stupid to me. (4:03)

Who cares if the A6 is faster 0-60? An Audi will always be a Volkswagen

wtf? who the hell sits on the hood of a beautiful BMW like that?? I shudder to think what happened if that dude had those tiny buttons on his Wranglers

Oh, and design wise the Audi A6 could never hold a candle to the F10 (imo)

What a joke I ran against a S4 with my F10 535i 6-speed manual and was on his ass on curvy road, on the striaghtaway also on his ass... and I don't have sport package. I did hit the DSC button and turned traction control off... go-fast-button

I currently own an 2012 A6 and have driven the 535xi a few time and I can tell you guys that what you see in that video is possible. The A6 feels so much lighter when taking off, no lag like the 535xi. The BMW feels more solid but drives heavier as well. I think some of you guys have seen this article, motor trend has the A6 from 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and the 535i in 5.5 sec, the 535i x-drive will be even slower than that.

How is that possible? A6 is quicker than the S4 now? Doubt it.

The S4 is slightly quicker than the 335 so safe to assume the A6 is slightly quicker than the 535. The idiots in this "test" have no idea what they are doing or purposely made the A6 look better. There is a reason nobody else does a drag race like this....

Here's a legit test of the A6 doing 0-60 in 5.4secs..

I dont know about being quicker, but many S4 owners have commented on how fast the A6 is, some thinks it just as fast as the S4, other say its a few 10th of a sec slower. You should really go test drive one for the hell of it, all I can say is that the A6 is way under rated at 310 HP, it feels more like 350 HP or so.

i love how the A6 looks on the outside...not a fan of the interior. Not that it isn't nice but bmw's style suits me more. I plan on getting a new car soon and the A6 is my #2 choice.

That review just grossly favors the Audi and its obvious. If it was really THAT good every magazine would feel the same way. Both great cars...just a dumb review.

I am thinking about trading in my A6 for the 535xi in a few months, but haven’t made up my mind yet. Interior design of a car is certainly subjective, the Audi interior to me is much younger, more inviting and brighter. BMW's interior is more traditional, nicer arm rest on the door, warmer and darker. Material wise, I would say they are the same. BMW has nicer material in some area but the Audi standard leather is better than the BMW’s optional Dakota leather. The A6's gauge cluster is one of the best in the market, the A6 is also about $5000 cheaper compare to a similarly equipped 535xi. I would say the interior is pretty much a tossup, but the 5 series’ upgrade seats are more comfortable than anything Audi has to offer right now.
It’s not just that review above that favor Audi performance wise, almost every professional review said the same, motor trend, car and driver, etc.
Both are great cars definitely, the Audi feels younger, more lively and begging to be push, the 535xi feel more solid, relax, heavy and has to be motivated to go fast.

If you haven't read reviews of your 5er yet then you should and realize it no longer is the sports sedan that BMW used to make. It has become a luxury sedan.

Nope no joke, must be my superior driving skills and being knowledgeable about operating my 535i... So you are telling me that you believe every review you read?

This review along with the MT and other reviews just reinforces that the A6 has become the sports sedan of the the bunch. In most of the reviews comparing the A6 vs 535 the A6 is the sportier drive.
I have driven both and I have to agree but really both are great cars and it really depends on if you want a more luxurious car in the 5er or a more sporting drive in the A6.

Wow sweet that you now have VW beating BMW in some of these reviews.

I have to agree with you here. The exterior of the A6 is pretty nice and really is subjective. The interior I like the design of the A6 more but I definitely think BMW out did the A6 in the craftsmanship. I felt the BMW interior was much better put together in the sense of the finishing. For example the stitching of the door panel and armrest in the BMW really beats the Audi. That said if you wait for the S6 which is to compete with the 550i the interior of the S6 is impeccable.
The review was correct in the performance assessment if you look at it. Motor Trend review was the same. The A6 was much sportier of the bunch in the comparison. The Motor Trend review basically indicated that the A6 was the e60 5er in handling.

Nope no joke, must be my superior driving skills and being knowledgeable about operating my 535i... So you are telling me that you believe every review you read?

Hate the video review, but having driven 535i and A6 back to back, two weekends in a row, in reversed order (535i then A6, A6 then 535i), I definitely agree with the sentiment that the A6 is faster and more nimble feeling of the two.

Still trying to make my mind up on my purchase, but that's another thread.

It really depends on whats your top priority, luxury or performance.

I think the 535i has become the car of choice for middle age guys like me. The A6 seemed like a really nice car but a bit too much in your face. The Benz e350 was just too boring. The 535i was just right...hence the goldilocks moniker given to it by one car magazine.

I traded my CLS, which is faster than the 535, 550 and the A6, for the 528 and it's not bothering me at all. I miss the power and speed sometimes but not to the point where I choose a car over another because of it. All my previous cars were fast BMWs and Mercedes. Mercedes for luxury and BMW for handling and recently technology, never considered anything else. Im definitely over speed and enjoying some ticket free time. One more thing, if you have speed in mind I doubt an A6 would do it for you.

I agree, I am in the mid 40s and starting to think more luxury than performance, the 5 series has a very nice balance of the two. The A6 sort of draw too much attention for my liking, kids wanting to race me at every red light. If BMW is for middle age guys, then Mercedes must be for senior citizens I test drove a 2012 E350 sport a few weeks back, its much improved, but its still no BMW or Audi.

It is a perfect balance of luxury and speed thats what I like about it (and im only 19) and I think the 5 series stands out moree than the a6. Iv turned more heads with the 535 than a buddy of mine with his a7.
