How do I do the loyalty quests? Where are they located?

Yeah I meant the loyalty quests, my bad. I think I've done all of them now, what members do you guys take? I usually go with Miranda and Gurrus or Thane.

Loyalty quest are just your team members personal quests. You can't miss them. They're highlighted in your journal and Kelly usually notifies you, "So and so wants to talk to you." These are loyalty quests.

My team consisted of Miranda and Garrus 95% of the game. You get a special team member late game (don't want to spoil it) And I used him for the remainder of the game.

Miranda's pretty much a must for Soldier Shep. Her passive class bonus helps a ton. Too bad she smells of crusty seamen and vasoline, or I would've romanced her (Tali FTW!)......Not to mention she bears a striking resemblance to the latest King of Pop.....SHAMON!

But yeah if you have any questions, keep em coming. I loved ME2.

Ah, that explains the last empty slot and no quest for it . Yeah I used them both the most as well. I heard you can get Kelly to be a dancer in your room lol. I'm trying to get enough element zero to get one of my squad members powers, I'm using lift right now. That stuff is so hard to find though lol.

Dude.....Planet scanning is the WORST.

Oh and yeah kelly will strip for you in your room if you didn't romance anyone in your playthrough. I'm stuck with Tali for now (kind of pointless cuddling in bed with a girl in a biosuit lol)

Miranda does have the hottest sex scene in the game though. As for the "special member' make sure you do his loyalty quest Asap as well when you get him.

Tell me about it, I'm glad I hot that faster scanner upgrade. It's still just as bad though lol.

I've always wondered what they looked like under the suit. Really want to see what their faces look like. I planned on going with Miranda in the first place, I'll see where it goes haha. I'll be sure to do the quest when I get the new member.

What class you playing anyway? I heard theirs new difficulty modes unlocked after you go through the first play through, that true?

Playing as a Soldier. Personally, I like the ability to use pretty much every weapon. I get enough of the "biotic" fix by using my other squad members powers.

Plus, there's always Advanced Training (allows you to learn 1 additional power from loyal members). As for unlocking harder modes, yeah I think "insanity" is the hardest. Once you beat the game you can free roam and do random quests or start a New game+

Hopefully we'll find out what Tali and the Quarians look like in ME3 (fingers crossed). But I guess some of the allure is the mystery anyway.....

I'm going to be laughing my ass off if Tali ends up having predator mandibles or something...

I play soldier as well, really fun class. Mostly use the assault and sniper, rockets for heavy. Once I get enough element zero I'm going to pick a different power, probably shock wave or throw. Is their any fighting you can do after you beat the game and your in free roam? Or do you just walk around different ships.

You using the Revenant LMG? That thing is a beast. If you've been to the Collector's ship it's one of the 3 options you can pick. (Assault riffle, Widow sniper, etc...) With AR Accuracy and all the upgrades you can pretty much tear through anything.

Best extra ability for Soldier is definitely Reave or Barrier (Geth Shield works too). Pick what you want man, but those are the best for our class.

Don't know about endgame fighting as I haven't really done anything. It's mostly for being able to play the new DLC as it comes out. (You know we're getting a vehicle and another character right?)

Yeah I beat the game, I thought the final squad member would come forward as I went along. Didn't know I had to go up and activate him lol. Working on his quest right now. Might try the second playthrough a shot and see how it goes. I'm pissed that I lost Thane though, he was awesome. I wish I would have went with the LMG, I went with the Assault, the accuracy is pretty weak on it lol. I didn't know about the DL content, I'll be sure to look into it.

Yeah how did Thane die for you man? You didn't assign him any specific task right? As long as you have your ship upgrades and his loyalty, you should've been good. (Assuming you didn't have him go through the vents or something stupid)

Yeah man DLC should be good. Glad you enjoyed the game. Epic indeed, get ready for ME3

I got no clue, I didn't send him into anything special. It was at the part where you're in the force field to avoid the bugs. When we got to the end the bugs ended up taking him. He was loyal, guess I missed and upgrade or something. Damn why couldn't they take Jack or Samara instead, his kid is going to take it hard :/ lol. But yeah just started insanity, you know the 4 robots in the beginning of the game? Yeah they almost killed me haha. Their not playing around now. Game really was fun though, looking forward to the 3rd.

MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT

No, he just dies there if you pick the wrong person to run the forcefield. I had the same thing happen. Tali in the vents, Garrus running the 2nd fireteam the whole time, Mordin on the survivor escort and Samara to run the field. Everyone survives, even if Jack isn't loyal because of the stupid cat fight bullshit.

I might start it today. Still undecided whether I should run through the first one again or not but I probably wont.

I saw a few posts about upgrading your ship. So I assume that you have more interaction with your ship in this game, because you couldnt do anything with it in the first? Or are you talking about upgrading the 4x4 thing?

That's what I was thinking. Might give the second play through a shot and see how it goes in their.

I've never played the first one, thinking about downloading it, worth the time? For the ship theirs some stuff you can interact with but most of the ship upgrades just benefit the overall the game play.

You should be good man, as long as you've still got ME1's story down in your head. I somehow managed to miss ME1 all these years, but I picked it up right before I started playing ME2.

Story-only runthrough can be completed in under 10 hours easy. So assuming you made all the choices you want to carry over from ME1, I'd just import your old save.....or do a quick run-through before playing ME2.

Wow man, can't believe you just dove into ME2. It would be like watching "The Two Towers" before "The Fellowship.....

or...."Empire Strikes Back" before "A New Hope."

So yeah, DEFINITELY play ME1, IMO you should've played it first.

Be warned though, the combat's not nearly as fun and it would feel like a downgrade coming from ME2, but it's still a phenominal game nonetheless.

Also for downloading....It's like $14 now, $20 NEW. Common man, gotta support Bioware

I didn't get to keep my save from ME1 because it's been like 2 years since it came out, so I just played ME2 with the default choices. After the first play through i went and purchased ME1 on Steam, ran it, and closed it within like 3 minutes of play time. I just couldn't play the obviously inferior game (that i greatly enjoyed at the time when it came out) after playing its better. It's too bad, but hopefully they don't change up too many things in ME3. I think they nailed the controls, FPS element, and may other parts of the game in Me2. Just need a bit more work on the RPG side (stripped too much of it away, need less mining and more inventory) and teammate AI. If that is done, ME3 will probably be able to get Game of the Decade award. ME2 comes pretty damn close.

Coming from ME2 to ME1 will feel like a downgrade (Combat, graphics) , but if anything it's completely worth it for the story. As I said, a story-only run can be completed in less than 10 hours which is hardly enough for a gamer to complain about.

I see what you're saying man, but playing with the "default" choices kind of takes away from the whole experience.

The ME series is a trilogy, meaning that your choices/actions carry over and have a significant impact on each installment. (At least this was Bioware's intent).

Granted the random sidequests from ME1 don't seem to matter much (You get a few extra lines of dialogue in ME2, no biggie). However there are some significant choices that will carry over (like saving the Ranchi queen) that will have an impact in ME3.

Also, by not playing the first you really miss out on the characters and their development. (like when you see Ashley for the first time, Wrex, or when you hear about the reapers, etc...) You don't really get the whole picture.

ME2 is still great as a stand-alone game, and ME1 is by no means a requirement. However, I don't think anyone who has played both will tell you to skip ME1 and go right into ME2.

What are some must do things in ME1? I'm thinking about picking that game up before starting ME2.

It's hard for me to explain as I wouldn't want to spoil anything from ME1/ME2 for you.

But if you're sticking with the main-story, it's pretty obvious what the big decisions are. As I said, you can complete it in under 10 hours if you stick to the main plot. So if your anxious to get playing ME2 it won't take you long.

ME1's still a great game though, so take as long as you want. Bottom line is if you really want to get playing ME2, just pick up ME1 and do a quick run through for the story/character purposes.

The ending of ME1 is also the superior of the 2, but that's my opinion.

ME1's Platinum Hits now.....so $20 new. You can also download it from the marketplace or buy used if that's cheaper.
